Best app ever!

theatrewolf

I never write reviews but this is one of the best app I've ever had.

Absolutely essential for 5e!

tylersaz

I can't tell you how many HOURS I've spent building characters with this app. Beyond worth the $3 to upgrade! If you play D&D, have access to an Apple device, and DON'T use Fight Club, you need to rethink your priorities!

Almost

Finding a name is stupid

It’s nearly perfect the only thing I can see this app getting better is if they added more options for the character creator such as more races to choose from, different character backgrounds, more feats, and a updated spell selection to choose from.

Excellent app for anyone playing D&D 5e

I highly recommend this app to everyone playing D&D 5th edition. It includes spells, backgrounds, items, races, and feats, all in an easily accessible system. As a DM, I keep this app handy when balancing the spells of all the members in the party. I use it to verify range, components, and details about that spell that we may have glossed over. Some of the spells aren’t exactly perfectly word for word in the PHB and some have different names (ex: Tasha’s Hideous Laughter is just listed as Hideous Laughter in the app) but it is not at all difficult to change. The app is super customizable and the interface is simple and easy to use. Lastly, the app doesn’t have the full compendium of all spells, feats, backgrounds, etc. but they can be easily exported into the app from Dropbox. The .xml files are all easy to find on Google and upload very quickly. Although it does take a bit of work up front to really prep the app for reference, the work is worth it in the end for the easy access.

Good

Can’t purchase

In this current version I can’t purchase upgrade. I have an iPhone 8 iOS 11.3

Cleverly covers most of the situations

It’s a bit of hassle to find and update your data but once you do, you don’t have to carry the books any more. The system is extremely versatile. It doesn’t cover 100% of the mechanics (such as extended crit dies of the champion sub class) but most of the cases there are ways to implement your character’s mechanics.

The best one out there

!sparky!

No, it’s not intuitive to get up and running. Once I did modify the compendium, I have to say this is the best app for playing a D&D character. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. Still... this gem is worth a 5 star review IMHO. My biggest request is for a forum for users to help each other with the app. Hunting and pecking over google gives mixed results.

Near Perfect

Well made and reasonably priced. I was unsure if the premium version removes advertisements (as it does not explicitly say that it does), but it does which is great. While it does only have SRD content by default, that isn’t the fault of developer and because it is so easily customizable it has not been an issue. The UI has a clean look and is very responsive. The setting and very customizable and everything on the back end was easy to understand with little messing around. The only 2 issues, which both are incredibly minor, I ran into are as follows: 1. You can’t edit the Unarmed strike that has been created by default, which does not show proper values. (I ended up making another attacked named Unarmed Strike with corrected settings, but there are 2 of them now.) 2. This is more of a preference, but it would be nice to have another section for Background instead of Notes. Putting the Background in the Notes puts it above the Features Section and requires you to archive it if you wish to be able to see your features without scrolling - you must then unarchive it when you wish to read it. (If there was a Background Section that showed beneath the Features of the class that would be fantastic and solve all of these issues!) Over-All I would still recommend this app even considering those 2 very minor flaws. No other app I have tired has come anywhere close to as nice as this. I would also recommend upgrading to the premium version to get extra sheets and remove ads because of how reasonably priced it is.

I love this app

Do you hear me? I love it. My entire party is jealous. It’s great for uploading pre-built characters, and super easy to adjust things so you can keep your house rules in place. My only fault I’ve found in it is that it doesn’t seem to have an Android version, so the others in my party can’t use it.
