The best design and usability of sheet apps
RaphaelDDL2

I’ve purchased it been fez years and every update is still awesome. The updated design v3 is AWESOME, I really wish there was a way of contacting the developer (since app support goes to a facebook not updated since 2018), I really wished we could have an awesome desktop version of this. All other options fail miserably in comparison to this app. DnDBeyond char sheet is nowhere as good, as readable and as easy to use as this.

Great app! Super thoughtfully done

This app requires a bit of familiarity with DND and a bit of cleverness in terms of getting all the source material data loaded in*, but once it's set up it's a really great way to track your character, manage your stats and spells and make dice rolls. Great user interface design, well coded, clearly a team that knows what they're doing and loves the game. * On a totally unrelated note did you know you can download files directly from GitHub to your iPhone? Comes in handy sometimes!

Excellent. Calculator tools could use beefing up

We use this all the time for our d&d adventures. It makes tracking PCs easy! My 8 year old daughter has no trouble. The biggest improvement it needs is a more capable formula editor for setting various stats for dealing with oddball stuff. So for example the d&d 5e hill dwarf gets an extra HP per level. This is a nuisance to keep adding manually every level. Did you forget? Did you do it twice? Ugh. There alas isn’t any way to add a new modifier to add LVL to HP. Rather than a set of fixed function modifiers, the game should provide a set of editable formulas like excel that are general, so if you get a sword that doubles your hit points, well, you can do that.

Easy for beginners

I have never played D&D before and this is my first character. I was able to complete it in no time at all. I managed to do everything right(I think) and finish my character. I just wish there was instructions like “pick 2 of these” or “this means this and that means that”. Other then that this app is amazing.

BEST WAY TO PLAY DND

This app is great because you don’t need to remember all the little details about your character. Very good for creating characters and tracking their progress. Very helpful if your forgetful like me, or stuck in quarantine like all of us. :p

Excellent app

Especially when you download additional files for a much more complete source app. As per the increasing complexities of D&D, there could be a lot of different add-ons that would benefit the app (like added functionality with Wild Shape). Editing to add, there should be a way to add weight capacity to containers and the ability to see their current weight, including and excluding the container’s weight.

Great app, just make sure to bring your own info

This is an amazing app that helped me rediscover my love for the game, it can be a little hard to navigate the finer details at first, but once you get the hang of it you can do almost anything with ease. It’s also super easy to home brew because the app allows you to create your own items, spells, feats, and just about anything else you want. My one and only critique is that the compendium is horribly limited, so you have to do all the legwork if you want much variety in possible playstyles. If it had more extensive data readily available for the different feats, backgrounds, and whatnot, this would without a doubt get a perfect 5 stars from me.

Fight Club is where it’s at and I will talk about it!

This review is a long time coming because I’ve been using this app for years! If you’re new to 5e, I say skip D&D Beyond and invest in Fight Club. It’s free to download and much cheaper overall since updated compendiums (as xml files) are available for free online. Lion’s Den has also done a fantastic job fixing bugs over the years and adding new features to make the interface even more streamlined. I paid the premium to add more characters a long time ago and never looked back. Great for storing builds and tweaking characters before they hit the table. Once you update the compendium, this tool easily takes the place of a character sheet and dice rolls if your DM is okay with you rolling on your phone.

A lot of things missing
Gawken-warrior

Don’t get me wrong it’s convenient to have but it’s really annoying to have to look up information on races, classes, background information etc. when you’re trying to make a certain thing that not even on the app, for example there’s only 1 background everything else you have to look up and input yourself which isn’t really a good thing if you’re a new player with little to no experience with playing dnd or making characters

Love this app
Bow the boss

This app has been incredibly helpful for me to create characters and even DM. However, I can’t find a way to get expertise in something which is troublesome for when I play as a rogue.
