My app just updated and now my phone constantly tells me I have notifications when I go to the app and they will not load

Would it be possible for FB to do something about the crappy ‘Congratulations’ malware windows that pop up and freeze the app? Getting rid of these requires deleting the app entirely, and reinstalling it. Damned annoying. So far, they’ve chosen to do nothing about this problem. Considering dropping the app and just dealing with FB on my desktop, where I have much better ad blockers and malware filters.

what the hell have they done to this app and well fb in general, the timeline never refreshes correctly i’ve seen the same stupid stuff for days now and i have plenty of groups and forums etc. for content ,the “top stories” are days old, so aren’t the most recent, what i really want is to be able to permanently switch from top stories to most recent it’s MY timeline

Facebook tells me that I have notifications all the time and when I go on to check I have no new notifications. It’ll say I have anywhere from 5-8 and literally it’s the same notifications i checked hours before that. Unless I’m getting new notifications and it’s not showing me? I’m sure I’m not the only one with this issue and it should be resolved or I’ll take my social media elsewhere. Instagram gives me no issues. I think I’ll post there from now on....
Locked out for refusing to update

Updated review: for the past week or so, I've been getting in-app pop ups telling me to update for a "faster experience". I don't want to update. Now, I can't even use the app AT ALL without being blocked by the "update for a faster experience". I cannot X out of it. I cannot say "not now". I just cannot use the Facebook app anymore without updating, and I don't want to update. Guess I'll be deleting the app tonight. Thanks a bunch, Facebook. (not). Old review: The constant useless "aesthetic" updates are ugly, unnecessary, and driving me away from Facebook. The chat-bubble style comments are hideous, the app hangs on simple tasks and has to be force-restarted daily, and despite refusing to approve or allow automatic app updates, I still see these changes enacted randomly and without warning. Heads up, Facebook: if I don't update, it's because I don't want the useless changes you're pushing as if your website depends on it. It doesn't mean "please use permissions packets to activate everything I've been trying to avoid by refusing updates anyway".

i keep getting notifications for the same thing. i check the notifications and exactly 5-10 minutes later i get the EXACT same notification
