I was happy to see this feature app finally but to my disappointment this never worked. Multiple emails to customer service took me nowhere. I have Exxon Smart Card but nothing works and any payment I use fails to authorize. BP works perfectly and gives better discount along with Shell. This app and Exxon Smart card is a waste of time and I was never able to take advantage of the discount that the card gave me - not even once. What a shame this is.

The app wouldn’t scan my card. Tried several times but all it would do is sit there. Searching for a station had me in TN instead of SD. When I zoomed into my area, it identified the stations near me - but excluded the station nearby when I added the car wash filter...even though the station has a working/awesome car wash.

Great App - Poor Participation by Mobil/Exxon Station Operators

This is by far the best app I’ve encountered in the fueling business. It allows the use of Apple Pay and the new version now makes it possible to pay at a specific pump without even having to remove your phone from the car phone holder (no QR code pump scanning necessary). It knows you’re at the station via your phone’s location and allows you to select the specific pump number you want to authorize. Being able to earn points for future discounted fueling is great as is earning 2% cash back on an Apple Credit card attached to Apple Pay. The biggest complaint I have is the very poor participation of many Exxon/Mobil station operators who don’t accept payment via the app. I have 3 Mobil stations in my area and only 1 one of them accepts app payments. I wasn’t able to use the app at the one station that did accept app payments yesterday and I’m concerned they too have stopped participating. Evidently, station operators have a choice not to participate and obviously many don’t. As great as this app is, it’s only as valuable as one’s ability to use it at the stations. The app needs to identify non-participating stations so the app user can direct their business to those stations that do accept app payments. I noticed there is indication of this in the app, but it’s not at all accurate in my experience. It identifies the 2 stations that never have accepted app payments in my area as stations that do. Interestingly these nonparticipating stations even advertise the program all over the pump implying they are participants. Seems a bit like false advertising to me.

Make this a Carplay app.

The app is functional and easy to use, but a killer feature would be if it supported Carplay allowing me to purchase fuel on my dashboard screen rather than reach for my phone.

how do I use points with the new app? Now that the station finder is back, the app is useful again. I have accumulated over 1000 points and have no idea how to use. The old app used to ask if I wanted to use pints to purchase gas.

It can be very frustrating if the pump you are going to is broken or running slow for that day. Will error out and tell you have 1 active transaction and not let you go to another pump. Also if you have kids and you have them pump the gas it will timeout by the time you get them out there to pump the gas. You have to plan ahead.
