Picks up what apple left undone

Love that I can tweak my music to my style & enviro. Provides level of control just not possible with iPhone native sound settings. Only complaint is that I can't figure out how to have all my songs show up in the Equalizer library.

A really great app

RogerOn79

I decided to buy Equalizer because I am seriously hard of hearing and needed an app that would help me compensate. Actually, I bought several apps, but Equalizer, with its built-in gain controls, was by far the best of them. In addition, a member of the staff of Equalizer created for me a graphic-equalizer preset based on my own personal audiogram. (I got the audiogram from a hearing-aid dispenser, not from Equalizer.) The preset improved my listening experience still more. This is a great app, and the controls will be of value to all music lovers, not just hard-of-hearing ones like me.

Piece of ... work!

This is a revision of my previous one star review. The app did not work first try, however it does work, and works pretty well. The best feature is the bode plot EQ that lets you adjust the frequency response using several points representing high pass, low pass, and several peak filters you can stretch in the frequency domain and also raise or lower in magnitude at a center frequency. These are then summed by super-position into a resultant response. 1. Wish customized frequency responses would be automatically associated with the song they were created on, or the preset selected for it. You can save the custom responses you create, but that is not as frictionless as this suggestion. 2. The UI is a bit dated and could be easier to navigate. 3. It would be nice to see the song's native frequency spectrum overlaid on the bode plot along with the adjustable frequency response. 4. Sometimes the app locks up or something violating-Nyquist-sounding screeches out of the speakers and the app needs to be shut down and restarted. Overall, this EQ engine is powerful, and this app could be made wonderful with a little work. The automatically adjustable preamp is also a keen feature that prevents clipping and distortion. Ditch the iOS EQ presets tool (crappy, like almost everything else iOS) and hear your music with something like this app (I've tried many)! It can make a big difference in your music enjoyment and fidelity (limited, of course, by the song's original recording methods and the ADC used in its digitization, and the iPhone's internal audio DAC).

Hearing impaired solution for me!

Nevada07

I have high frequency hearing loss in one ear which makes it difficult to find a solution that boosts the frequencies I need in only one ear. This app does the trick and I love being able to listen to music and hear it in BOTH ears. 5-stars for the app performance and 5-stars to the tech support to help me balance the sound. Thank you!

Great app

Mel-n-SoCal

Love this app. Would give It 5 stars if I can figure how to keep the spectrum equalizer on. Lime the fact that you can adjust the sound. Sounds great on my iPhone with Bosé headphones. Sounds great in my car a d in my House. Very pleased with all the features.

Navigation fair, EQ great.

Wanted an EQ for my Podcast as well as music. This does that. Nice separate left/right control for headphones, like that. I like to pause songs while skipping and looking but this app turns it back on while doing so plus there is lag in skipping, HATE that. When shaping the EQ for left/right the touchscreen has difficulty with my iPod but not so much with my iPad(bigger). On my stock player I can touch the album cover for lyrics, not so here, you have to thumb wrestle for that. Navigation is always a tradeoff when dealing with apps I suppose, a shame to shelve previous conveniences when using add ons. This alone will likely opt me to not use this so much for music except when I want to hear a more controlled sound of course. Having said all that this EQ has the potential for shaping your sound nicely, is intelligently developed with various applications accessible. Would be nice if they added a visualizer.
