The latest “update” rendered the app completely useless! I have yet to be able to actually read one page before the app crashes. Most of the time, the page isn’t even loaded before the app closes. And this is for downloaded content. Like others have said, this is a huge disappointment! They took a stable, functioning app and broke it. Someone at their office wants only the print edition read. I keep hoping they’re going to sent out a patch, but it’s been 2 months now and I’m pretty sure no patch is coming.

I can’t believe how awful this new update is..ALL of my previously downloaded issues were removed!! That is completely unacceptable for an update that is supposed fo be an improvement! What once was a great app and a joy to read has become a joke. App is glitchy and unstable and frankly is quite disappointing. I doubt I will renew my subscription. Way to go EW!! Maybe I’ll try People.

Terrible in every way

Have been an EW subscriber since the beginning. This app is a disaster; slow and poorly designed. Meanwhile, non-stop double issues have made this more like Entertainment Bi-Weekly. So disappointing.

On newsstands before available for download

Why am I a digital subscriber when I can purchase the magazine on the newsstand before it's available for download? The new app is beyond frustrating. Whenever a new issue is finally available, subscribers are prompted to purchase the issue. The only way around this is to log out of the app and then log back in to download the issue. If this, and lag time issues are not fixed soon, I am done with this magazine.

Update the app already!

The latest version of the app is slow and the resolution on some of the pages are low quality. Really disappointing.

The app version of this publication used to have me looking forward to its weekly release. Interactive, fun, timely. This new version is nothing more than a PDF scanned version of the hard copy. Hard to read. Terrible. Soulless. Freezes, doesn’t recognize my subscription most weeks and the ‘live’ feed is nothing short of annoying. Fix it if you want to keep this long time Customer.

How How How can a major magazine allow such a horrible digital production. The resolution is TERRIBLE. Whole thing is blurry, not crisp like everything else on IPad. The annoying “swipe up for reader view” comes on the screen EVERYTIME you swipe a page. The original app was fantastic and so easy to use and great to look at. Such a waste in this age to produce a worthless app.

What a wonderful app this used to be but the new version doesn't make the investment worth it. Googling content on safari is more enjoyable than this slow to load, incredibly difficult to read, and poor layout experience. What a shame. You had one of the best digital magazine apps around and I subscribed for years. Sometimes new isn't always better.

Utterly disappointed in the new app. Have been a subscriber on print and digital for 10+ years. I am constantly confused as to why the ‘new’ app was even created - none of the enhancements are anything I would have asked for...and the execution is less than satisfactory. Many of the photos that must cost the magazine a fortune to shoot render slowly and are blurry when they finally come up. The ‘extras’ are miserable to navigate, take away from the magazine - both in web view-ability and interest in the topics. Please toss this version and start over or go back to prior set up...

Was better at one time.

Small things like a drop down hint window about “reader version” which happens on every page you view. Got it the first time it happened. Great way to view the magazine but getting there could be smoother.
