Getting less and less fun

Caribbeantarzan

I used to have lots of fun with this app, and I used to be really active. But now I realize that it’s getting less fun every time. I realized that they push you more and more towards buying premium, I get that u need to make money, but you are making the game less enjoyable for those with no premium. Adds are longer and more frequent, therefore I only do one lesson a day and I get out. Chest use to give more gems, now you barely get any. In the past u only had to pay once to do the diamond lesson, now you have to pay 4 times a lot of diamonds. The game has gotten a little bit more competitive and “fun” in some ways, but in general it has gotten more harder to enjoy (for not premium users)

the app is great… just a few things

hi there! duolingo is an amazing app to learn any language on, i’m currently learning german. i love the app and it’s fun to work with but i have a few problems, 1, when i type “okay” it says it’s wrong and then when i type in “ok” it says it’s correct, i’m so used to typing “okay” to where i keep getting it “wrong” other then that and a few other things the app is amazing.

Add ASL

luckycharm???

I love the app. I am a student who loves to learn different languages and I love that I can do it at my own pace. One thing I think you guys should add is American Sign Language. I know people would love to learn it and it is a language that a group of people speak. And it would be beneficial to the world.

Not the best app

French learner CC

Sends to many notifications. I wanted it to help me stay on track with the language but I got way to many notifications!! I do not like it!

Hi

Janey Zaratey

Thank you Duolingo for existing.I wouldn’t have known a lot of Spanish if you didn’t exist!

App doesn’t work

HarleyJFig

I use to use this app all the time but after the many updates and upgrades of the many languages, the app stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still won’t work. What a shame such a lovely app , turns out to be so poor.

It’s a great app and I’d like to give an idea

Something I’d like to see or at least don’t know about is the ability to have conversations with people who use the app because I have noticed it’s one thing to learn the language but it’s another to speak it with others so maybe a secondary app or screen in this app that can allow you to message people in the language you are trying to learn with maybe an auto translate if you aren’t as good as you think and they can even help understand better because they can tell you better the difference in the usage of similar words that confuse you or you don’t understand how to use it correctly

Scam ish

jKARMATAROT

I do enjoy this app but signed up for monthly and was charged for the yearly! Kinda scam ish if you ask me! If it’s a glitch fix it! I understand mistakes are made but trying to contact anyone regarding this is impossible! Guess I’m invested for a whole year now!

Bring back notifications!

Ritch Cruz

It used to be well known that duolingo would send seemingly endless notifications reminding you to complete your lesson. However, they’ve gone to the opposite extreme. I’m lucky if I’m reminded once to complete my lesson that day and it’s usually an hour before my streak ends. I have all notifications turned on. Please bring back reminders to complete our lessons!

It’s okay, but so many errors and inconsistencies

This app takes on a difficult challenge and does okay, BUT it suffers from some major problems that make using it extremely frustrating. Far too often the hints offered are either flat out wrong or are incomplete. For people with a high intermediate or above competency the “correct” answers are often not consistent with how the target language is used in real life. For example, in Spanish the word “en” can be used to mean “on, in, at” depending on context, but Duolingo will say you’re wrong to use it to signify “at”. Also, the spoken phrases in Esperanto are too fast and cannot be slowed down, which makes decoding them very difficult. I’m actually tempted to try their English lessons to see if those are equally incorrect. I’ve only used this app to brush up my Spanish and learn Esperanto, but I’ve decided to give up on the Spanish because there are so many errors and silly inconsistencies with the actual use of the language.
