Amazing game

This game is so amazing! You can learn so many languages in such fun ways! I’m learning Spanish right now and I can speak full sentences. This game is just the best game I’ve ever seen!

I think duolingo is a very helpful and easy la gauge learning app this can even be better than actual teachers teaching.???

anytime i try to do a lesson it will keep loading and not begin

No way to learn only conversation

NewWealthUser

The app expects you to already know the alphabets of the language you are learning. There is no way to learn spoken only language, which makes this app useless.

Japanese content is a letdown

Japanese course starts out great but gets wildly inconsistent by chapter 4 out of 6

Thanks to Duolimgo

Amazing app to learn French

Leowithambition

This app is absolutely phenomenal, It’s fun and very easy to use . I took French as an elective in college and I can honestly say I’ve learned more on this app than with my teacher in college .

Not effective, developers don’t take feedback

Ms.Nomad2018

So I’ve been with Duolingo for over a year and a half. I have more than a year streak and yet have nothing to show for it in terms of learning the language. The reason I give it two stars instead of one is because it got me into the habit, almost addiction, of learning language every single day, which I will now take to an app that actually works. There’re so many gimmicks, ads and errors that make its use almost impossible and it’s not really designed for learning the language, just for getting on leaderboards, kudos from the community and various rewards that you can acquire. There are so many errors - when you answer correctly and they still take the points off because that answer is not marked as correct in their system. There are also outright wrong answers!!! (confirmed with native speakers), think of drilling that into your head over and over again. Another pet peeve is when you lose a streak because of app glitch and have to pay for recovery of your 300 day streak. I’ve addressed it with their support but never heard back. If you guys have errors and bugs in your app, why are the users the ones punished for it? I guess you are too busy finding new ways to monetize and more adverts that intersperse every new screen you open. Sadly, I’m leaving. I love the community and I honestly gave it my best shot for the last year and a half, but the verdict is duolingo is just ineffective, gimmicky and ad-ridden. The errors don’t get corrected, the emails don’t get responded to… what can one do? PS. I also tried their premium version. No ads, so that’s a breather, but not any more effective in learning language.
