I often use DriveNow to get to the airport or back. I usually value convenience over everything, and DriveNow has that nailed. It’s always easy to use, which is great when you’re under time pressure. More important than convenience is reliability and DriveNow has that too. I’ve always been able to locate and use a car when I’ve needed it. The fact that BMW and MINI cars are offered is simply the whipped cream and cherry on the sundae, making the whole experience more than functional, making it fun too.

I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. The registration process is broken. I couldn’t make payment through it, neither through their customer service. Ultimately they sent me a credit recollection company. Now it’s been more than 3 month that I managed to pay for the registration, yet my account is blocked and I can’t use the service. This is despite multiple attempts to communicate with the customer service over the phone and through email. I’ve used dozens of car rental services in different countries, some were better some were worse, but DriveNow is by far the my WORST interaction with a company EVER (I’m even extending to any form of company, not just car sharing/rental)
Terrible Customer Service / Unauthorized Overcharging

I got this app along with the Car2Go app, so I could use it in Germany ( Hamburg). After locating a vehicle and beginning my trip, a low tire pressure light came on. When I called to notify customer service, I was told to locate another vehicle. I had to backtrack to another vehicle, which wasn’t even where it was supposed to be parked. It took over an hour to find the other vehicle, with my kids waiting at the house. When I finally found it ( not at all on the street it was supposed to be on!), guess what? The low tire pressure light was in in this vehicle, too. There was a lot of activity on my account by the rep during this time, that was supposed to cancel the original ride with the previous vehicle to adjust the fee and set up a one day (24 hour) rental again so I can have transportation to the airport the next day. She set it up in a way that would not allow me to lock the vehicle when I parked it, and I was charged BY THE HOUR, INSTEAD OF THE DAY RATE!! I ENDED UP BEING CHARGED OVER $100 extra!!! I tried repeatedly to reach a supervisor to fix this, but they refused to provide me a name or time that I would receive a return call. I was told that the supervisor was out to lunch or in a meeting, and there was no other staff person to address this mess with. It was COMPLETELY LAME!! My only recourse was disputing the charge with my credit card company....I think this is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It was convenient all the times before that, but I would not rely on this company’s app if I really needed truly reliable transportation.

I just moved to Copenhagen from abroad with work and this app has been a lifesaver for buying furniture. I wish you could report damage and note that a car needs cleaning in the app rather than having to call customer service, and I wish there was a way to find a parking space to plug the car in on the map in the app, and I wish there were hourly options between 3 hour rental and 6 hour rental, but those are small and don’t change the overall experience and ease of use.

App does everything I need. Unfortunately, DriveNow wants to make more profit so they got rid of allowing drivers to pause a rental while keeping the car. So the “spontaneous trip to the Starnberger See (orig ad) is no longer possible. If you need to park you pay FULL PRICE!!!?!!
