Premium service not working

jj salty

I paid for premium service, 69.99, received receipt from ITunes, verified with my bank that payment went through, DI said they would fix the problem and now crickets! I used to pay by the day because I didn’t need a year subscription because I couldn’t listen to the app due to my schedule. I decided to go ahead and get the premium for one year and my account is still stuck on free. I’m about to ask iTunes for a refund. Definitely will not renew the subscription after this train wreck if it ever gets resolved.

iOS 13 crash/UI-UX feedback/No Siri shortcut support

DNA_Navid

The app will not work on iOS 13 — opens then crashes every time. I cannot listen to my favorite music! ? I love the music. However, for many years, the primary way of going “back” in iOS has been to swipe right. Unfortunately, DI has yet to update its UI to embrace this convention. When listening to a channel and wanting to go back to the channel home page, still need to reach all the way to the down arrow on the upper right of the screen to minimize the channel. This is very difficult on larger screen phones. A simple swipe right would be the ideal gesture. ——— Also, it would be great if the app were to support Siri shortcuts. In case the developers don’t know what that is, just imaging saying “Hey Siri, play Melodic Progressive”. One can only dream...?

One Week In, Three to Go: A Quick Run-Through of DI.FM’s Initial Impressions

ComfyCostes

I came across an ad for this app while scrolling through Facebook last weekend and was intrigued enough to immediately go for the free one-month trial, while also being skeptical enough to hold off on the seventyish-dollar full membership. I’ve spent a decent amount of time with the app over the past week, and below are my thoughts thus far. The Good: I’ve come across numerous artists in multiple genres who I not only like, but who I’ve also not heard of, which is a huge plus. Show me new music that I dig, and you’ve pretty much won my heart. ——— The Bad: My initial skepticism had to do with my experiences thus far with other streaming services and electronic music specifically; electronic artists are usually either classified in terms of very broad genres, or, IF subgenres of EDM are used, they’re much more often than not used incorrectly. Sadly, DI.FM suffers from this, though I might add that it seems to do so considerably less often than other streaming services. There isn’t a way to skip individual tracks, and unless you’re ready to change stations altogether, you’re stuck listening to any and all tracks you don’t like. I do understand that this is a side effect of the whole “radio” aspect they’re aiming for, and so I’m willing to largely forgive it, but it’s no less annoying. Overall, I do have to say that I’m largely a fan of this app; I’ve enjoyed music binges with it much more often than I’ve not enjoyed them, but there are some definite drawbacks that stop me from fully immersing myself in what DI.FM has to offer. P.S.: As a personal request, I’d like to say that an option to “shuffle” at least all of one’s favorited stations would be a really awesome feature. I don’t know if it’s possible given the aforementioned “radio” aspect, but if you all could find a way to implement such a feature, I might just be sold!

Great app

I been using this app since 2011 when it only had a few stations and limited features. I still use it today and love the music they load onto their playlists. Audio quality is great! Thanks for providing us with an app where we can find and discover all types of electronic music!

Great music, ok app, sketchy company with horrible (no) customer service or support.

Oh, DI, where do I begin? Way back when raves were still a thing, DI was a staple of mine. At house parties or afterparties, if no one brought decks and records, we’d put DI on a computer and be happy to have it. Several years ago, DI quit working in iTunes. I assumed that they’d gone out of business, lamented, built up my podcast inventory, eventually subscribed to Apple Music, and moved on. But obviously they’re still around; under new ownership, I guess, who don’t want to play nicely with others. Whatever. iTunes’ upcoming retirement is long overdue anyway. And since the app is CarPlay compatible, I decided to give it a shot. The music is just as good as I remember; perhaps even better. They still play separate genres of dance music, versus the generic “EDM” of EDC and the other festivals which have replaced raves. And that alone is a godsend. The app itself... it’s okay. It’s not as good or as polished as Apple Music or Spotify but it gets the job done. Two problems, both on the CarPlay side: 1) It doesn’t buffer aggressively enough and passing from cell to cell on the freeway will often cause the music to cut out. 2) CarPlay functions are minimal. You only get to play stations you’ve favorited in the app beforehand. Nevertheless, i was ready to pay for a subscription. BUT: False advertising. They advertise a $96 $4/month 2-year premium subscription. With my free trial near the end, I went looking to buy it. And nowhere is it available to purchase. I can convert from the trial to a 1-year or cancel entirely. And that 1-year subscription? In reality, they’re charging $10 more for it than their advertised price. In short, every price & plan they advertise is a LIE. I tried contacting DI for help, once in the app, once via their website, and once on their Twitter. I was ignored all three times. No assistance in buying the plan they claim to sell; not even a: “Sorry, we don’t offer that plan anymore. Bob just forgot to update the website.” At this point, I can only conclude that the advertised pricing is a bait & scam. Well, I’m not this minute’s sucker.
