Won’t connect to WiFi

Desantisfy

I moved since I originally bought this and now the sound bar won’t connect to WiFi. I am techi so I walked through the steps properly... once my phones WiFi is connected to the PlayWifi network, the app will not find any networks to connect to

Easy surround sound setup

Frustrated-by-valet

First, I don’t use the DT speakers for streaming music apps. I have the W Studio Micro, and two W7 speakers, for a surround sound system with my 65” OLED TV. While the included instructions aren’t great (that’s why I took away a star) a quick online search takes you to support videos. After connecting the speakers to WiFi, simply go to the Settings, select Surround Sound, and its a pretty straight forward walk through from there. Overall time < 30 minutes. Also, sounds great! Nice job Definitive Technology.

Not compatible with Apple Music

Titan

Definitive Technology is using the Play Fi app with their own branding to maybe they can’t fix it but how is this IOS app NOT compatible with the Apple Music library even when the songs are downloaded on your phone? Incredibly frustrating! Other than that this app does its job well. The radio streaming is a nice bonus

Wifi

Joel Bustillos

Absolutely horrible when trying to connect to wifi. Why couldn’t the soundbar been Bluetooth capable. Not only that, can’t even use the aux input unless connected to wifi. Will never buy another one.

No Apple Music Support

F.Sean

I hate to write this review because the sound bar puts out such great sound and is super compact, but I have to warn others of this app. It has border line caused me to not want another Definitive product again. The app and speaker are relatively easy to pair, in theory, but I generally have to repeat the pairing steps 3-5 times before I can actually get the two to pair. Once paired, you’d think one could stream music regardless of the music app, right? Wrong. You are limited to a handful of apps and the most recent “advancement” (early 2018) is the capability to stream music from Amazon Music. How many people with iPhones use Apple Music? I’m sure it’s quite a bit..how would Definitive have an app available through Apple store and not support Apple Music?

Pandora

bballjohnnie

What has happened to Def Tech and Pandora? Now I get error notices when I try to launch Pandora through my Def Tech App on my iPad and iPhone. This is getting pretty frustrating.

Awful user experience

Nuclearxp

Getting certificate errors using Pandora. App is slow, no search etc. this app and play-fi are years behind sonos and AirPlay

Works well, but must read instructions

frisco golfer

I had no problems getting everything working, but all of my network equipment is generally new and updated. It’s very important to follow the instructions closely because the system is not really plug and play. Once you get it setup, everything is phenomenal!

App is good

BobbyDeedee

The app is OK. It is not great, but I am confident that it’s going to get better, and to me it is worth it because I very much value at the speaker quality of W9. Please don’t stop improving. Thanks !

Apple Music

When are you planning to allow Apple Music for the app to the definitive airplay speakers?
