"Read" Between The "Words": Dead "Awesome" Reckoning!
KimTwilight69

Well, BF changed their plans and released this game instead of Grim Tales--that's fine by me. The reason why is because one of my favorite series is back with another intriguing and suspenseful murder mystery. The story lines in some of these series have started to blur into each other after so many installments; however, this one is grabbing my attention with the unique idea of participating in a competition between writers that turns deadly, as you realize that you need to fight to stay alive. I laud the ingenious idea of incorporating this developer's other series into the storyline; however, I won't spoil your sake of surprise on how it transpires. I love the use of the tablet, which replaces the overused Evidence Board and functions as an authentic technologically oriented device. In a refreshing deductive format, layers of information about the suspects intensely evolve to arouse suspicion as the story progresses; they play an intricate role in the solution of the crimes. The characters' personalities are highlighted through their speech and behavioral patterns; for example, Jessica exhibits an affluent but superficial appearance, as demonstrated through her well-off clothes, her smoking habit, and her snobbish voice. The graphics are poorly rendered, with blotchy visuals that lack the crispness and clarity of details. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map facilitates brisk travel to labeled locations and indicates available actions. Transition between scenes is smooth and quick; no glitches. You discover two collection sets, which can blend well into the background. The artistry and presentation of the multi-layered HOSs suit the storyline; some introduce novel twists when conveying the backstory. The varied puzzles are highly imaginative, and they are successfully integrated into the actions in progress. One type is move a helicopter along a path to its destination while avoiding obstacles. In summation, you will be kept on your toes with a multitude of tasks to effectuate within each scene. I am wholly impressed with the high level of interactivity, innovation, and diversity that this game offers. Furthermore, the storyline is maintaining my focus, rather than putting me to sleep. I can't complain about a single thing. Therefore, I am pleased to suggest that you play the free trial because I think that a lot of you might like this game. My rating is 5 stars, and I hope this positive trend continues.

Dead Lines - deadly and twisted story!
Dracyy

Although there are a lot of dead bodies in this game, there isn't any overt violence or gore. The murders have already occurred and your interactions with the bodies mostly consists of scanning with your tablet. That said.....this is one twisted plot! Using the names of various game series (like Dead Reckoning etc) as book series, then throwing the authors against each other- but wait....who is killing the authors? Can you survive? Thankfully there is a transporting map because you will need it! Collecting dollars in each scene, morphing objects in hop. Good crisp graphics. Verdict: buy!

One of the best l have played in a long time. Bonus game a little short.

WAY too much back and forth

This game isn't for me. I'd rather think through a game, not have to keep jumping to the map to figure out where to go next. Even locating the map was hidden. I'll pass.

Nice

Since I didn't like the last 3 games from EIPIX, I was hesitant to purchase this game. However, I love the crime/mystery genre so I took a chance. I am pleased that I did so, because it was definitely enjoyable! I liked the fact that other series were alluded to, and that the rooms captured the essence of each series. I always detested the evidence board, so its replacement by the tablet was fantastic. You can do additional tasks with the tablet, but I won't go into details. You must play to figure that out. You could customize settings. There was an excellent teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations. At each location you must find dollar bill signs. Objectives were regularly updated. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. The graphics could have been sharpened up but nevertheless they were beautiful. The HO scenes had variation and in some you had the option to play a bubble shooting game. The morphing objects were confined to the HO scenes. There was a decent variety of puzzles/games. At least they weren't all rotational types. You also must question suspects to deduce whether they are truthful. Unfortunately, this game seemed short, even with the bonus adventure. My review will stand at 4 stars. I deducted a star for length and also for slight quality assurance issues (trouble applying inventory at times). Still and all, this was a terrific game, and I think most players will enjoy it. Happy gaming to all! Note to Opinion: You didn't need to go into the tablet to access the map. There was a separate map button right on the screen!

Winner, winner ...

Liked how the story unfolded, although the bonus chapter, I don't know what reference it had to the main game. Anyhow I liked how the characters were writers, referenced to their books, etc. Game had mystery, intrigued, whodunnits scenarios, puzzles, ho's, the interrogation techniques were great. Include this in the rest of the series with a couple of twists added to each new game and you will have more and more people flick to the game along with us regulars who like this kind of genre of games. Graphics are always spot on. Think you have a winner. Sometimes all it takes is to start thinking out of the box and once we do that, our thought pattern explodes with so many ideas and whatnot. Listening and adding others input helps too.
