I paid for this app thinking by online reviews it would be better than my current weather app. I work outdoors and my sole income relies on accurate forecasts. Disappointing. As I’m working outdoors yesterday, and it states no precipitation till 5pm and I’m wet at 3:00. Really? Also temperatures are way off. It is acceptable to be 3-5 degrees off, but not 10.

I had big hopes for this app having downloaded the web version several years ago, which then became unavailable. My Acurite weather system has a forecast element from dark sky. The format of the maps does not give you a good future forecast when you zoom in to your region. The NWS does a much better job. Oh and despite the app claiming to support family sharing, my wife’s app says does not support sharing, buy fo $3.99. We have deleted and reinstalled the app on both phones, still no sharing. Not worth $3.99!!!

Update 01April18: updated rating from 1 to 3. I’ve been comparing the app to reality and the app has been doing fine with the temperature. We’ll see if I get caught in another shower. More to follow. Ok app. Needs to improve accuracy. I’ll monitor for the next month and update rating Accordingly.

Too busy! Looks old and clunky. Clean it up again, please. And let us set our locations, hence privacy. Would be more useful then.

I work as a para educator in elementary school in Maryland. One of our jobs is outdoor recess. We have relied many a time on Dark Sky to give us up to the minute weather conditions. We want to get the kids out as much as possible and we trust the app, 5 stars!

Great for dodging bad weather when taking the dogs out

Opening the door to take your dogs out (to do their business) and seeing rain, snow or sleet is one of life‘s big frustrations. This application’s accuracy and weather change notification functionality keeps you ahead of the weather game. Time after time, I have been engrossed in some indoor activity, when this application caught my attention with a weather change alert like “ rain starting in 15 minutes“... allowing me plenty of time to take the dogs out and avoid a big mess. In addition it is a great all-around Weather application. It presents a very simple timeline temperature and precipitation reductions. I love this application!
