The Danse has returned!
Dracyy

Danse does not disappoint. You are investigating a murder. Labeled inventory, transporting map, collect windmills. Art great, snarky commentary on background items (love it) and fabulous match 3 option for hop. Do buy, you won't regret!

Love this game!

Very unique and interesting HOPs and puzzles, good artwork

Outstanding

Loving it. Found a morphing object, quite by accident. Yay. Voice talent just OK, but great graphics, tricky puzzles, zoom, map, period atmosphere. Ack. Not quite. Maid's knee-length uniform simply would not have been worn during Toulouse-Lautrec's lifetime (died 1901), even in scandalous Montmartre. But that is a pretty dinky nit to pick. No fairies, wizards, elves, vampires, angels, ghosts—Yay! At least so far. Also no rats. Ha! A monkey just showed up. Hope it isn't a cutesy-poo sidekick. Could be useful, though. Monkeys have hands and can get into places people can't. BTW: Most extras are only accessible after completing the game (and I just started) but the "Making of" video is available up front. Check it out. Best I've ever seen. Get while it's on sale!

We're off to the Cabaret in this Whodunit mystery!
KimTwilight69

Lynx Minx: I'm sorry for the confusion regarding my user name. I stated at the end of my review for "Mystery of the Ancients" that I changed user names, and I was formerly Kim Meadow. You can now refer to me as my new user name, Kim Twilight. Thank you for your concern. Now on to the review. This game is fabulous! You play a private detective, Madam Roche, who is investigating the death of Sophie, a leading cabaret star of La Parisienne. The janitor is blamed, but a famous Parisian artist hires you to find the real killer. The artwork was clear and the graphics had heavy emphasis on different shades of red and brown. This story takes place in Paris, France, during the 1800's; and the scenes were appropriately related to the time period. The French accents and voice overs were well done. The music reflected the time period with its haunting and somber tone. This game had many unique elements. You obtain, in-game, an Evidence Board, which contains information on the characters you meet during your investigation. Here you can view each character's description and any other evidence collected to make a connection to determine if and how they are involved in the murder. You also have Objectives here giving you the next goal as well. This game does not lack in the "unique game mechanics" department. You receive a detective's kit with supplies, such as cotton swabs to collect samples; a fingerprint kit; and a magnifying glass to analyze items/ areas around the crime scenes. You receive the map that indicates Objectives and Tasks, depending on the mode of difficulty. There is no option to customize. The map has labeled locations and quick transport, as well as sub-locations within an area. A nice feature was that you obtain cards as you progress to give to your driver to be driven to the next location. The inventory is labeled and highly interactive, with items to assemble and mini games to play. When an inventory item is ready for assembly, a blue mark will flash in its corner. The HOS are innovative and varied, containing artwork and items related to the time period. This game has those "hidden object puzzles within HOS", as well as pop-up micro HOS. One type was when you put your detective skills to work to examine a victim. You use various tools to inspect different areas, and a few micro silhouette HOS initiate. You can switch to Match 3, but who wants to do that. The puzzles were nicely interwoven into the story line, such as opening a cabinet by moving a ball through a maze. They are short and simple, but loads of fun. You are collecting 41 windmills in the locations; and when you find one, you will see that the little windmill symbol in the lower left hand corner will light up letting you know you've collected it. You are also collecting morphing objects within the HOS. The extras include a codex, which tells the story of the characters, a souvenir room, etc. One aspect I did not like was that you had to go through the Menu to access the map and Evidence Board. You had to keep checking to see an exclamation mark signifying that new material has been entered. In addition, I found that the map did not always note objectives and tasks so there was some running around to figure out what to do next. The map was also a little confusing as to where to go and how to get there at times. I also found that the map required double taps to transport. I have not experienced any glitches, and I gave this game a big 5 stars, even with these small issues. It is highly interactive and takes innovation to a new level. I really felt immersed within the mystery of playing a detective during the 1800's. Between the Parisian setting; unique game mechanics; and the creative, innovative use of detective techniques, this game hit a home run for me.

A Good One!

Very nice graphics and very colorful. The HOS are clear and the puzzles fun and challenging. The map is good, the hint system great and the storyline an interesting one. It is nice to have the little extras like the windmills and collectibles. A wonderful game, especially for the price.

Well done-loved it!

A murder mystery set in Paris of the 1800s-with wonderful scenes and an historical figure at the center of the mystery. Beautiful artwork, imaginative and varied HOS, games & tasks. Teleporting map, good hints, interesting story line with humans only. Bravo, Eipix, for the very engrossing and enjoyable game!

Great game, but cannot give it 5 stars! As usual, EIPIX gives us an incredible experience, with a murder mystery that takes you through turn-of-the-century Paris. Gorgeous graphics, no RATS, dynamic cut-scenes. You learn more of the story with an evidence board as opposed to a journal. Tasks and objectives are regularly updated, and there is a marked teleport map. You collect windmills and morphing objects, which I don't really care about. Inventory is labeled and you have the always fun plus objects to figure out. You also have a forensics kit with which to work. There was a good mix of HO scenes and puzzles. There were plenty of locations to unlock and loading was instantaneous between locations. Definitely fun to play. So why not the extra star? First of all, I felt that the game was too short, even with bonus gameplay. Next, I hate exiting a game to get to a map or journal (or evidence board, in this case). Lastly I felt that the game was a little bit finicky, and had a bit of trouble either using inventory or back tapping to the last location. But all in all, it was a good solid game. I also would have liked some wallpapers of the magnificent Paris landscape. However, this is a game well worth playing! Dream Team, please start reviewing again. Ones who haven't know who you are, and after personally speaking to some higher-ups at BigFish, they told me that WE are responsible for so many positive changes (teleport maps, instantaneous loading, fewer glitches, more quality games.) So I need my reviewers back! Miss you all and send lots of ?❤️?!

Loved It!

I loved everything about this game with only 2 small complaints...the HOP were a little murky and the game seemed a little short. Other than that, great game!
