Dark Mode

What’s the status on getting dark mode on Jabber iOS?

Not able to consistently connect. Too laborious to connect ( must disconnect, reconnect at times to get it working).

Not all messages come to my phone

Jabber on my laptop works fine. Jabber for my iPhone is completely unreliable. The only way chat messages will come to my phone is if the phone screen is actively on and Jabber is open. When the phone screen goes black after a few minutes (as it does to conserve battery), then it’s completely hit or miss. I can’t even figure out the rhyme or reason to which messages will and won’t come to my phone. I have it set to never log me off and automatic away is also turned off. I have notifications enabled in every way. Why can’t there be a setting where all messages populate to both my phone and my laptop so I can respond from whichever device I happen to be near? This problem renders this entire app useless for me.

The flakiest iPhone app I have ever used

Uesgeek

I have been using iPhones since the 3GS and this is the most unreliable app I have ever used. Sometimes I get the error “cannot login outside corporate network” when in fact our servers are set up so that one can ONLY login outside the corporate network. Sometimes I get a message that my username and password are incorrect even though they are definitely correct. Sometimes it seems to log in without error messages (and accepts my username and password) but when I go the Keypad tab to make a call, it only then tries to connect to phone services and then fails to do so. Sometimes it helps if I delete the app, force-restart my iPhone and then reinstall, but most of the time even that doesn’t help. Once in a blue moon it actually connects and works properly, so long as I let it run in the background all the time; if I shut it down entirely and try to launch and use it at a later time, all the problems start all over again. And I’m one of the lucky ones: some of my colleagues have never been able to get it to work, even temporarily.

Some time I have to log out and then log in back

Hello. I love the flexibly of Jabber....but múltiples times my phone rights and disconnect the call. I need to log out and then log in to stop the issue. Thanks.

Keypad doesnt work

EraIsHere

When on a call, I can’t use the keypad to press a number, if prompted. What a downer! Otherwise, the app is fine so far.

Jabber review

Ricomars

I had been using Jabber for iPhone the better part of the lockdown. So approximately +/- 2 weeks. I have a very stable internet connection but the app seems to disconnect randomly, so you constantly have to keep checking your login status. To fix the connection I would have to either restart the app several times or restart my phone. The voice quality is descent though. My biggest worry is the connection is not stable and needs to be reset / restarted.

Broken Phone services last 2 updates

Mb1818714

While this app has never been “great”, it was still a “necessary evil” due to my travels away from my desk. But, Phone services have been broken since the update to 12.8. Team has been working with Cisco on a TAC case ever since - but still broken. At least VM still works, so that rates 1 star - I can still work “late” after following up on previously left VM’s. Holding my breath for a working update.

Heats my phone up

This app drains my battery unbelievably fast. Was just on a 30 min phone call and my phone is uncomfortably warm. Also the “phone services” always cuts out and I have to wait for it to load before making calls. Also I’ve had calls dropped frequently.

Great app but does not appear to support iOS 12

akrahe

As with many Apple iOS updates, users should be wary of updating their phone’s operating system until enterprise apps explicitly say they support it. The Jabber app functions flawlessly... when it is not in the background on iOS 12. Once the app moves to the background, calls and IM messages will not come in until the app is brought to the foreground (and the call is missed). This is a terrible flaw as it renders the app utterly useless. UPDATE 11/8/18: iOS 12.1 came and went. I am now running the 12.1.1 Beta and the app still does not work as promised. Has become totally useless, have to change this to 1 Star. UPDATE: The 12.1 Beta 3 did not fix the problem. The app still logs out after periods of inactivity in the background and calls continue to be missed when the app is in the background.
