Sooner or Later, I'll Be "Forgetting" About This One!

ATTENTION PLAYERS: I just finished playing FIVE-BN's new game, entitled as above; and it was magnificent! Every aspect you love in a game is there, including a long demo; intriguing story; beneficial features, such as an all-encompassing map, journal to record in-depth story progression; custom settings, etc. I left a detailed review for your convenience. I hope you enjoy it! The plot fosters a conventional and recycled idea in which you are transported back in time to 18th century Scotland, and you realize that you must save your kidnapped family member from a villain. But who is the real villain? Play and find out! I love exploring a European medieval-like village, or one still standing from that time period, with winding, cobblestone roads that lead out to the lush countryside filled with castles, rolling hills, flowing rivers, and farms. I also appreciate the intermittent segments of the Scottish bagpipes since I am a vehement admirer of anything related to both Scotland and Ireland. The graphics are mediocre as they are slightly fuzzy and unclear. The bright and iridescent colors vividly stand out against the contrasting monochromatic bluish background, and this visualization exudes senses of mystification and foreboding. There are some effective animations incorporated within, such as wooden boards moving; pumpkins being carved into evil-like faces; and lights turning on and off--all upon touch. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. The teleport map allows for smooth transport to labeled locations and indicates available actions. The HOS comprise the various fashions that we have grown accustomed to; nothing unordinary is presented though. The puzzles are simple, but they are fun; sometimes you will find items while gaining parts of the backstory. You are not given a journal; the reading materials are solely in the form of collected pieces of information, such as letters, notes, etc. Transition between scenes is brisk; no delays. The collectibles are fairly easy to spot, and there are multiples of one of the types in each location. Furthermore, one set is informative, which adds a level of sophistication rather than just discovering them. Overall, the game doesn't knock my socks off; most features are there, but cutting-edge or more advanced elements are not. Gameplay is straightforward and lacks any real challenge. In my opinion, this game is slightly above average. Therefore, my true rating is 3.5 stars; however, I bumped it up to 4 stars due to a glitch-free experience and a storyline that is maintaining my attention.

Good story, great graphics, map not always dependable. Love finding morph objects and puzzles but these were a bit too easy

Lovely game

Lovely game, quality music, good puzzles. No ridiculous dark spirits (at least not yet). Enjoyed this one!

Great game!

Very fun interactive game, one of the best Big Fish hidden objects yet!

Glitchy

I loved the Scottish theme, but unfortunately the game froze at several spots during play, necessitating restarting. Not a pleasant experience.

Once again, a big fish game freezes
Humbug support group

Tried the demo, seemed ok. Exited the game and came back later, only to have it freeze. Seems to be a common problem with big fish now. Other games from other sources don't seem to have this problem. I have been a big fish player for years but am really getting tired of the lack of proper beta testing and bug fixes. Just glad I was able to try before buying. Don't bother with this if you really want to finish a game.

Freezing issues, and way too short!

Often froze when relaunching, which required a restart. Also the game was ridiculously short! Good graphic design, music and bonus game, but still not worth the price.

I want a Scottie!

I really liked this unique game as it is a mix between magic, historical Scotland, and time travel. Wouldn't we all like to go back in time to do something different? This game has most of the things us HOP players like, such as interactive map (worked fine for me), mode customization, HOPs but not too many mixed with other puzzles, a great plot twist, etc. The main thing I would have liked more of was puzzles that were challenging with a lot more creativity (other than the HOPs). Scotland is part of my heritage, and I absolutely loved the music! Happy I bought this. Note to Lynx: you're always complaining about not enough games, but sounds like you're really busy with them! ?

I would give this game 5 stars, but the glitches are irritating! They all happen when "Big Fish" games tries to force you to do a review, when those bothersome pop-ups happen, it like cow the game up!
