Amazon Gift Card Reward Does Not Work

Like all others have noted here, there Are NO EGIFT CARDS! Giftcard rewards do NOT work. It deducts the points from your account but no rewards are ever sent. You just get a generic email to wait 14 days. I waited over a month and still no eGift cards. No response from customer service either on the missing eGift cards inquiries. Don’t believe the few FAKE reviews here saying they got gift cards. Based on the overwhelming reviews on here, it’s certain CheckPoints isn’t giving out any eGift cards that people have worked to earn them.

The app is simple to use but that doesn’t matter if your gift cards are never received. I redeemed an Amazon gift card on December 23rd and in the beginning of January and have yet to receive either one. I emailed tech support and haven’t heard from them either.

I just sent a customer support ticket this morning about an extremely long 4-week wait time on my rewards redemption (my fault since I forgot to input my information) They got it to me within 13 minutes after sending the ticket! There are too many bugs though and whenever I try to click a store I’m close to, it pulls up an ad but I don’t get any check-in rewards. This has been going for about 3 months now

Just want to mention I too redeemed on Dec 26 for an e-gift card and didn’t receive it within the 14 days. After a few emails to support I finally received it on Jan 17. So be vigilant and keep emailing them and eventually they’ll get you your gift cards. I’m figuring that this pandemic has affected them too so be patient and keep bugging them. Hopefully they’ll have more local checkin’s again soon too.?

I submitted my first receipt and got 500 points which I tried to redeem but the redeem page didn’t allow me to input my email so I couldn’t. What a waste of time, absolute scam

2/1/21: New issue: while I think it’s nice they have the opportunity to scan receipts, it would be nice if the would give time the crappy 5 coins!! I scanned 5 receipts tonight. It only gave me credit for four receipts. I tried to scan the last one again but it tells me it’s a duplicate so I can’t scan it again. When I check my history, only 4 receipts show up! 1/11/21: As soon as the new year came, the opportunity for check in points dropped. Now, I can check in to some places and it lists a bunch of other stores but they never offer points for check in points!! What changed?? No update was done. They just take it away! Plus they still take items from stores away. So when I look at Walmart in the morning, there’s 16 things to scan. When I get to Walmart, there is only 5 or 6 things to scan! 12/29/2020: I submitted a claim to them for not receiving my gift card. They actually sent it in one email and sent an apology in another email. It’s good to know someone is listening. 12/28/2020: Dear Checkpoints, You should NOT call yourself the #1 app for anything!! You were an awesome app about 6 years ago, then you sucked big lemons, then you got even worse, then you got better and now you are definitely slipping! I think management needs to do some major work in their customer service area! Mainly, put in a CS department!! This app has the crappiest CS!! Mainly because there is no CS!!! It’s like it’s your lucky day if you actually get the gift card you redeemed with you hard earned, yes, they are very hard earned, coins!! I redeemed a $25 Starbucks GC on 12/9. Today is 12/28 and I still haven’t received it. Other times I get the GC within 30 minutes. Seriously, who runs this company??? It’s got to be a bunch of millennials that don’t really like to work ?. I was going to finally feel comfortable enough to give this app 4 stars but lo & behold they messed something else up!! The app seems to be working fairly well with the check ins but i do still have to delete and reinstall it because the check ins don’t always want to work. That seems to be less often. Now the problem is with trying to scan receipts. It doesn’t let you do it!! It’s there & says you’ll get points for the first 2 receipts, which means a whopping 5 points, but it doesn’t give you a way to open that section up. It lets you go into the section for the higher points where you have to give your bank info? (not happening), but for the regular receipts it doesn’t let you take the pic of it. Please fix this newest problem?? Two things; First, for scanning the receipts, they offer “higher points” but you have to link your bank account. Not your debit card like other apps but they want your user name & password for your account!!! Is that legal??? And if you give them access to your account, are you crazy??!!! 2nd: It would be wonderful if this app could get things right!! Now after doing my check in at Walmart & wanting to go inside the store to scan items, Walmart no longer shows up on the main screen. The only stores that show up are stores I’m no where near!!! Usually after checking in, I can go into the store and scan!! For the love of god, please fix this issue!! This is the first time in a long time I’m able to get to Walmart early where all the items should still be available to scan & now Walmart doesn’t even show up!!! Yes, I deleted and reinstalled the app. Still not there. None of the stores I checked into are there????? So now they added a higher value for receipts. What info do they ask for? The name of my bank, my account user name & my password?? Are you kidding?? Why would I give anyone my user name & password for my bank account?? I don’t care if they claim “it’s safe”. There are other apps out there that give you points just by linking your debit card and paying as credit. And if you don’t want to give them your username & password, you’re penalized by only getting 5 points per receipt where it used to be 25 points for certain stores. Now they have a whole long list of stores but it doesn’t matter that they finally added more stores, they’re all only worth 5 points. This app is freaking crazy!!! Also, there is NO consistency to this app working properly. Every morning on my way to the gym I check in at some of the locations. Most of the time I have to delete the app, reinstall it, log in, then check in. All that just to find out it considered my taping on a store to check in as checking in and it doesn’t care that I didn’t receive any points, that location is considered checked into and the points disappear. Considering there aren’t that many points for scanning items anymore, it’s pretty sad the only way to get points is by checking in. Please fix these issues & add more items to scan. Also, Walmart (the only store with items to scan) has a decent amount of things to scan at 7AM. But by 9:30AM, 1/2 of them are gone. Sorry but some of us have lives and can’t run to Walmart anytime we want.

I ordered 2 measly $1 Amazon gift cards and I’m still waiting to receive them. E-mail said it could take up to 14 business days but it’s way longer than that. I emailed but have not heard back. What a waste of time!

For years was an incredible app and great experience but I’ve been writing multiple emails for the past going on 2 months now inquiring about multiple gift cards that are owed to me and I still have not received any of my gift cards that I earned and The few responses that I have gotten early on was told to wait 14 days or less for it to be resolved and that is not the case here. Used to be an incredible app and experience and now I have stopped using the app because I’m not getting anywhere.

When it works, which is apparently a challenge, it will take you months to get a $1 gift card. Beware - when you accumulate points the company will wipe them out so that you have to start over with no explanation or warning. Shady business!
