After connecting with matches, the app automatically deletes conversations so you cannot contact you matches.

They push notifications you which makes you think you have a match or message but you really don’t. Extremely frustrating.

Chappy isn’t bad as far as gay dating apps go. It seems to be a step above the hook up oriented apps like Grindr and Scruff, but not quite as great as Tinder, OK Cupid, and Bumble for me. It operates more in the same swipe manner like Tinder and Bumble, which means no one can message someone unless you’re a match. I love that feature as I usually receive quite a bit of messages from people on apps, and I’ve never been a fan of just anyone messaging me. The match signifies you are both have interest. I gave this an average of three stars, because the users on this app seem to be on the lazy side. They match and don’t message or message once then drop the ball but stay matched. I receive more engaging users on tinder and bumble. This may not be the case for you, but it is for me. Not sure why, but perhaps Chappy can consider some implementations such as automatically removing a match if after thirty days neither have messaged the other.

This app is so simple, however that exactly what we need in a dating app!!! Even the unpaid version is great!!!!!! best Gay dating app

All my pictures are rejected and there’s not a single person aged 18-80 within 100 miles of Austin TX. The app is useless as is.

I just signed up for this app and submitted 3 pictures of me from the waist up, fully clothed yet they kept getting rejected. No idea why. Seems a bit ridiculous that if you require users to have a face pic, that they keep rejecting them!

Every time I went to upload a photo, it wouldn’t allow me to and I read the guidelines however, none of my pictures qualified for the requirements. I take thousands of selfies and I just found it weird how none of them were allowed to upload.

I used to really like this app - decent match rate, people seemed relatively engaged, and I really like the concept of stating what you're looking for in the sea of gay dating apps. Post-update, though, I feel like everyone has switched to "All Dates" because "Commitment" especially sounds extreme. I'm not trying to get married right now; I just don't want a hook-up. And my match rate has plummeted, making me wonder if people have moved off the app (I'd take partial responsibility, but it was pretty stark drop-off with the update being the only change). Aesthetically and all that, the update was a plus. But unfortunately that wouldn't be enough to keep me on the app.

You run out of people to match with and there is not much activity going on. It’s easy to understand and manage the app but compared to their competitors there is still not many people using it, probably not event a 10% Edit: I appreciate the developers reaching out and I actually started getting a bunch of matches in the past few days from guys I swiped right weeks ago.
