Doesn’t work after update

After updating the app, the app doesn’t work, it won’t even open, please fix

I really want to like this app, but the logic they use to try to convince you to keep using it is manipulative. Even if you turn off all the notifications within the app except for actual matches and new messages, you will still see badge notifications and even banners with marketing messages such as “someone just liked you! Open the app and start swiping to find them!” No dude. I’m not that desperate that I need to start furiously swiping to hopefully match with someone who just liked me. Ploys like that make people hate you. Just provide a good service with better message delivery within the app (which is definitely lacking) and we’ll naturally want to spend more time on the app. Seriously, fire your marketing team and get rid of the coercive notifications.

A message arrived from a non existing person

Perhaps it was a push message. It said “Someone you commute with wanted us to say hi to you.” Bizarre since I work from home.

Fake notifications

Every day the apps sends a fake notification for me to open the app and see that I have no messages. When I do get real messages, I don’t get notifications. If the next update doesn’t fix it I’ll just delete it. Ain’t no one got time for this. And the developers’ response to another similar complaint is asinine. So we should just turn off notifications? How about not trying to lure users to the app. Obviously this isn’t a glitch but part of the design.

I have enjoyed this application so far. However, I have come across many profiles that seem to be outdated. People who I know are currently in happy committed relationships. I have even contacted some and they have all said that they haven’t used Chappy in a very long time. This leads me to believe that it is not updating once they erase it or delete their profile. Unfortunately, I saw a profile of a friend of mine who has passed away a few months ago. There was no option in the “report” section to remedy this.

If you are anything but Caucasian or Eastern Asian (Chinese, Korean, etc.), this app blows. Good luck finding matches if you’re black, Latino, Arab, Indian, etc. You’ll be in for a long ride!

Shows notifications when there are none...

Yes, notifications can be turned on and off. But when you get notifications, and there are non it’s really frustrating. Feels like manipulation.

Can’t create Profile

I just downloaded the app and tried to use it. I can’t get passed the select my age screen. There is literally nothing for me to click on. No drop box or icon the click on. :(

Promising but has a bug

So far everything has been good except for the 'sparks' feature. At first the app said I have 5 sparks I can send per day and then after using 3 of them it changed to 1 spark per day. Now I have to wait 24 hours before I can start reviewing matches again. Crappy bug devs.
