Wowww

Signed up... put my request out there needing a date night babysitter for my 2 kids... saw that I got a couple of applicants and THEN it tells me I have to pay to upgrade to even view the responses. The cost of their service is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion & they made it seem like you could still get in touch with people without paying, you just don’t get the background checks, etc. VERY MISLEADING. I’m pretty upset that I now can’t even respond to the applicants I have. Pretty unprofessional.

Horrible luck!!!!!

I messaged about 40 to 50 people to help me with my job and I had 3 people interested! First person I interviews said she wanted the job but when I called her 2 days later she acted like she didn’t even know me!!!!! She wanted a job with more money when we discussed the payment and she was ok with at the interview!!!!! Another lady was very forceful when it came to getting an answer from me whether or not if I was going to hire her!!! She reminding me of a stalker!!!!! I don’t usually right reviews but I was very, very disappointed for the money you have to pay to even look at their profiles and then getting no good results!!!!! Thank you for your time!

Thank you care.com for always meeting wonderful families through this site! I am always able to find families in need of childcare and your app makes it so easy to search !

Worst

This app is the worst, website horrible, horrible company. Unfortunately all the caregivers go to care.com so you’re kind of stuck with them. User interface is hard to use. App crashes all the time. They finally allow you to send a phone number to a potential caregiver - used to be you had to use their unworkable internal phone system. If you want to talk to a human at customer support - you can’t.

Waste of Money

Absolutbees

No one responds and no one wants to work but they are sure to tell you what their rates are. Then when messaging it says This account is closed. I’ve found that senior home health is a horrible thing to have to go through. When you’re already stressed because of your loved ones health you have to deal with this! My advice is to just stick with interviewing companies face to face but be aware this behavior exists there too. Good luck!

Great concept

Fun summer read

I think the app is reasonably user friendly. Overall it’s organized well. I’m not crazy about the ad hoc manner in which the site hides phone numbers. In my opinion we’re all adults (or should be. Teens should not be permitted to advertise), and if we want to share phone numbers that should be our choice. I have had technical difficulties on more than one occasion where I couldn’t connect with someone because the tap phone feature was malfunctioning. I also think there should be a separate part of the site for those seeking long-term child care, as opposed to a casual babysitter. But perhaps my biggest gripe is not with the site itself from a technical perspective, but with its efficacy. I have at least 10 people who ignore my outreach efforts (after they responded to my add), or who don’t show up for a phone or in-person interview for every one person who responds and follows through. As a result, the process of finding a nanny or sitter is extremely time intensive, and the opposite of convenient, which surely the developers of the app intended. Of course you can’t blame care.com for that. But I do think that is an important component to share with anyone contemplating signing up for a membership.

Messaging does not work

This app does not work properly. Messages do not always go through and phone numbers get restricted. Please don’t limit our communication as it makes it hard to get connected with the right caretakers. We can make our risk assessments.

Useless and expensive

Not only does this cost a fortune to even try out the applicants available are slim to none! They should really at least let you try it out for free for a week so you know what you’re getting into before you hand over your hard earned money!! App claims to offer many other services besides babysitting, but it would be easier ( and free) to just look through the local classified ads and randomly pick a “baby sitter” ( that’s all you’re getting at care.com regardless) I’m also frustrated and angry that I spent so much money to just get to take a peek if there was anyone actually available to work for...me but no there isn’t. App does allow you to leave messages with applicants to see if they’d be interested in working for you, but again....that is something you can do yourself through the classifieds. Care.com is a cyst pool of people trapped trying to get/receive help and Care.com profiting for not! I feel like, as a consumer who is in need of service, I was completely taken advantage of! Come on, they charge a finders fee every single time you pay someone??? And that’s just one of the ways they love to charge you money! I hate to think the cut they take from the providers on their site!? Care.com is really all about them making money and nothing about providing a service...or should I say “Care”ing. Again...classifieds...for free!
