This app used to be free and now when I go it pops up an ad for Captions Pro but there is no way to exit out of the ad so now I can’t use this app at all unless I pay. Is this a big or is there a way to exit out of the ad I just need basic 1 min captions I don’t need anything else the pro version has.

Update: now it keeps trying to “download from iCloud” when I’m trying to upload video from my phone and it sits at 0% forever. What is up with this broken app?! Previous review: I gave in and paid the money. Today I exported a video I’d been reworking the subs on for abound a half hour only to have a loud BEEP at the end of the video. And I couldn’t access the project to fix it. It was gone. Buyer’s remorse.

I’d be much more willing to leave a positive review if the videos could be longer. Right now only Mox Captions allows videos up to ten minutes. Please fix this and I’ll change my review. Full length social media videos are too long for the trim.

It does a good job with captions, it’s a solid app. Buuut it doesn’t tell you upfront that it’s going to cost(and cost a lot). So I spent a half hour fixing up my captions perfectly, then tried to download it and was greeted with an unmovable pop up asking if I wanted to pay monthly or yearly. If I’d know it would cost, especially cost that much, ahead of time then I could have made the choice to pay for it and use it, or to not. But waiting until you finish a whole project to then attempt to surprise charge you is shady. Use a watermark or make us watch some ads or give us a few free trials or something. This is just straight up sneaky advertising.

Wow. This was one of my favorite apps to use to caption my lyrics in my videos until they started charging for it. What happened?

The fact is that this app needs a major update. Things like deleting multiple clips are needed. As well as new text and text options. Being able to add text is key as well. My one MAIN issue with this app is that every now and then it’ll just let me record everything and then when I go to save, it doesn’t “have enough disk space available” which makes no sense This is my go to app for captions but it’s really annoying that this keeps happening.

This app is not free. I used it when it was free and now they don’t tell you anything about charging you until you’ve spent time and got your video all fixed (because it doesn’t pick up captions correctly) and then when you hit send it traps you in a subscription page that you cannot close or back out of. You’re stuck. No trials to offer or anything. You have to force close the app to get out of that page. And I would maybe consider paying for it if the editing process wasn’t impossible. Adding captions that the app missed is a complete guessing game since it won’t let you play, pause, etc while editing the captions. And you can’t undo if you mess up and you can’t delete captions once they’re entered. Garbage.

This app was really awesome and easy to use used to use it for all of my content. But now I can’t get past the “captions pro” when all I did was fix what the captions said because the computer got it wrong… so annoying not a fan anymore.

I have to subscribe now for functionality that I had already in the older versions? That's bogus. Uninstalled.
