This went from one of the best free apps I had to a subscription service without warning.

Hard to use.

Every time I try to edit the caption or when it’s supposed to pop up it won’t let me. And every time I want to download or send it somewhere it asks for me to pay.

I had been using this without an issue for a few weeks when suddenly it wouldn’t let me save a video without choosing a subscription. There’s no X to get out of the screen, so all the work you just did editing your captions is gone. They’re forcing you to pay for it, even for videos less than one minute, without advertising it as such. It says it should be free for 1 min videos but it doesn’t count if it literally won’t let you save a video without subscribing. Not cool.

Before they had options as to what was locked or unlocked. Without a heads up they changed the model and waited until I finished a new caption to say they’re forcing their subscription model now.

all of a sudden I have to pay to get back to the video I was making. can’t afford it rn and frankly annoyed I wasted time composing a message then find out the app no longer has a free version.

I used this so I could share content with the HH Comunity. But now I can’t afford to do that. I’m a small LGTBQ creator serving a under recognized group. Can anybody recommend a better app to use please.

It WAS a great app

I loved this app and used it to caption all of my videos for the hard of hearing and Deaf community. Suddenly without warning they put everything behind a paywall so it’s no longer usable. Very disappointing.

This app is barely functional. The amount of bugs in this thing is ridiculous. I can’t believe you would start to charge so much for something so sub par. This is such an easy thing to replicate.

$8 a month for captions? Uh, for a few bucks more I get Netflix. If you want to make money, charge a one time purchase, like $2 or $3. I think most people would hand that over. But $8 a month? I’m guessing not many people will bite. Hope it works out for you guys.

Force you to pay and lost all my content

With no warning today, they now force you to pay over $40 a year in order to use this. Tiktok and other social media websites offer transcription for free. I am now deleting this app. I would have preferred them to add ads to it for the free version, instead of forcing us to pay for the same services that we were getting for free. Also I had multiple videos that I made for months and can no longer access them without paying for the subscription. Very disappointing
