Don’t bother

This app used to work perfectly. Now it doesn’t save my runs properly. It’ll tell me when to walk or run but when I look at the screen, it’ll reset my run to the last time I unlocked the phone. So if I’m at the end of my run and I unlock it, it’ll reset to 6 minutes in. I’m not running with my phone unlocked in my hand the whole time. Fix it or I’m requesting a refund.

I see no difference between this $4.99 app and the free one. I’m extremely frustrated that I purchased this. Do not waste your money. Get the free one if you really want it.
Poor app badge management

An app that is paid for and requires notifications to run properly shouldn’t subject the user to notifications of ads or other products. Moreover, if they have app badge numbers to make sure users tap on the ads (in a paid app mind you) they should be able to clear the app badge without having to delete and reinstall. It’s basic app development and should have been caught during testing. Also, the reason I paid for the app was because of the watch integration. However the watch app is so poor that it is utterly unusable.

I gave the app 5 stars because I has helped me to improve on running. I was not one before. However, there are several issues that need to be fixed. No matter what I do I can not here the notifications for when to walk or run. I have followed all instructions on how to hear the notifications and none of it has worked. So I now run with my phone in hand. It also does not sync to my watch at all. I paid 4.99 to upgrade and the only thing upgraded was the skins that you can use. I contacted the developer and never received a response. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
Tracks you outside of app. Keeps asking to enable "Motion and Fitness"

The app works to perform the basic C25K program. That is a plus. Now the major problem: **STILL doing this after latest update** The app continues to access GPS when the app is in the background, even when you are NOT tracking a workout. The only way to get the app to stop using GPS is to disable its GPS access entirely (which would reduce the accuracy of tracking when using the app) or to force close the app. I'm not sure if this is a bug or Zenlabs is unethically mining information about its users. I can't believe I paid for such a sloppy app. I was fooled by the good reviews. Update: I received a message from the developers telling me to go to settings -> privacy -> location services -> C25K and set gps access for C25K to “while using the app”. I already had that option set. The issue persists. I have also update my phone, uninstalled the app, reinstalled the app... the whole shebang... the app continues to try to track me inappropriately if I don’t force close the app when I’m done. It performs identically on my wife’s phone as well.
Life changing

I know this sounds corny, but this app changed my life. As a former athlete, I had never run for fun and really had no interest in it until there was a 5k coming up for a charity that I loved. I started using the app and quickly loved it. It’s so easy to follow and kept me from staring at the clock the whole time. A year later, I look forward to running everyday. Never thought I would say that!

Much better than 5KRunner app. I haven’t had issues with this one. I used 5K until it would not shut down and continue playing in the background even after I had power cycled my phone. 5K freezes when I try to play one of my playlists. I have not had any issues with C25K, it plays my music and playlists perfectly. I just wish there was encouragement during your run like in 5K. C25K does not show my run history like 5K. I wait it did.
