No pace??

KBAVL

Did I really pay for a running app that doesn’t track my pace? I just assumed that would be included since it’s such a basic metric! I’m doing C25K to work on my 5K PR after months of long slow marathon training and the app is useless to me if I don’t know how fast I’m running. I want to know my average run pace and average walk pace for each workout, ideally even my average run pace for each interval. If that information is not available, I’m deleting the app and starting my search again.

Great phone app, not so great watch app

JohnnyB8283

Great phone app. Works extremely well and easy to use. Bought Apple Watch so I didn’t have to bring phone with me on runs. First run I left my phone in the car, turned on music and started the first workout. Did the 5 minute warm up, and started the jog. When I get like I was jogging for more than the minute, looked at watch and realized I was already 30 seconds into the walk. Unless I’m doing something wrong, there’s no audio cues when using the app on just the watch. You have to be looking at the watch exactly when it moves to next step to get a small vibration. If you’re not looking at watch the whole time, it’s useless. If I’m doing something wrong and you can get audio cues I will update review to 5 stars because this and the companion apps are great.

Useless on Watch

Pendor

Decided to try the officially C25k app after the old one I was using stopped getting updates. Seeing the Apple Watch support was a big part of choosing this app. I'm very disappointed and doubt I'll be able to get any use out of this app. Interval notifications don't display on Watch in stand alone mode unless the watch screen is on. You literally have to watch the clock to see when to change speeds. No HealthKit workout integration from the Watch either. The iPhone app forces music into shuffle every time you launch it, so my carefully ordered running playlist plays out of order. And after buying the pro version, still there's mandatory data sharing you can't turn off without losing functionality and ads every day. If the app gets shutdown (like after you try to turn off location so you're not forced to share it), it doesn't remember you were in the middle of a workout, so you lose your progress. Extremely disappointing.

Here we are Jan. 2019 and problems still arise,

Jazziedoodle

I have read some of the reviews about the lack of notifications when you try to use the watch alone. I also saw the replies. I just bought this, so it SHOULD be updated, but it still has those problems. I have the Series 3 and have the flexibility to just take my watch for activities such as this, but when you read reviews about it being fixed, go and buy the app, and it STILL doesn’t work, it’s disappointing. I almost want my money back. I mean, it’s $4.99-but I want to see a for real update.

No prompts when using on stand alone Apple Watc

Janethedrain

This app was purchased so I could use on my new Apple Watch, as it states must buy Pro for stand alone watch. I cannot get any cues through my air pods...I am running Nike Pro at the same time...it supplies miles and splits... but nothing from c25pro...no voice cues! I can’t be looking down and switching screens to see if it’s walk or run time! Jane

Stop annoying me!

If they didn’t keep prompting me to review this app I would have given it a better score

It works!

So like most people looking at this types of app here, I wanted to get off the couch and get my butt moving. I’m a former state place finishing wrestler and college football player who 20 years ago was in peak shape... on January 1st 2019 I was far from that. I know how to properly diet when I want to but I’m not consistent at it and was about 40 lbs over weight and about 30 from where I’d be happy. I knew I could diet it off but it would come right back on so decided I needed to change my lifestyle and get running. To me running has always meant one thing, getting my wind up for wrestling and I’ve never enjoyed it. I wanted to change that. So today I just finished the day I was dreading as I clicked through the workouts 5 weeks ago. 5 minute brisk walk then 2 miles straight running. Ahhhhh!!! Never saw myself completing this day a month ago. Today I did an extra qtr mile on top of it to get home. The app is mostly interval training that starts what today seems so easy but on day one I begged for each beep of my phone to come to end the running portions. Gradually those only came on the first day of the weeks.... then they just disappear. I’m running, not hating it and I’m impressed. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is its missing good data collection, I have to use separate apps to track data in the background like heart rate and pace. Second flaw is not on the Apple Watch. I wish I could just go out without my phone and it would run. Thanks for helping me become health and get off the couch. Oh and readers don’t forget to stretch!

Apple Watch stand alone doesn’t work.

CMeyer2001

Have tried multiple times to use without my phone. I receive no notification to run or walk. Big disappointment as I don’t want to bring my phone along on workouts. Support hasn’t been helpful at all.

Haptics/alerts not working properly on my S4 Apple Watch

Susan McClyde

I’m attempting to use the pro version as stand alone on my watch and am really disappointed so far. The alerts sporadically work and usually, only when I raise my wrist to check interval progress. I ran today and over-ran the running intervals and over-walked the walking intervals. But I get alerted “properly” when the workout is complete? Not helpful.

Useless

Decided to get this since it’s available on my Fitbit Ionic but apparently there is no way to sync the Ionic app with the phone app which makes zero sense. What’s the point? No real way to sync with other fitness/weight loss apps either. I’ve got a half dozen different things I use and they can all talk to each other easily but not this. By far the least user friendly fitness app on the market. Don’t waste your money on it.
