Fantastic App and Label Printer

Truko loko

This app is fantastic, I just connected directly to my new label printer PT-E550W and works great, have a lot of templates for different labels, easy to use, can print labels totally from my iPhone without having to interact with the device!!! ??

Need Improvements

Armandolo

It's great for simple prints or unaltered template prints but here are my issues: A) printing on provided 2.4in thick Red/Black roll does not work. It won't even recognize that particular role. B) Design of the provided template cannot change. No flexibility. It's take it or leave it kind of approach C) "simple label" creation is not flexible like the provided templates to for example allow for two text fields sitting too/bottom. D) if we are to create a custom label in the desktop version, it would be nice to transfer it to the mobile to allow for consistency

A must-have for every home.

You'd like a device that does labels, improves organization and provides a professional look? Look no further. You can run this device off your computer, iPhone on Wi-Fi or hard wired.

Ok for simple stuff

But not great. For example, it won't let you put two text boxes in a label so that you can have TEXT GRAPHIC TEXT or TEXT 2-LINE-TEXT.

Better Than Struggling with Self-Contained Labelers

ChiefWizard

Using the app with the PT-P750W is easy once you set up the wireless connection. That was a struggle but now it works great. The app produces simple labels just fine. The labeled or app creates much longer cutoff sections than necessary thereby wasting expensive tape. It'd be nice to have that adjustable from the app. Auto centering does not work unless the label is long enough. There should be a label length indicator while one adjusts the font size so we know if the label will ultimately fit. Once you add the ability to print multiple lines, it would be good to be able to set a label length maximum and let the label automatically go to 2 lines if it is exceeded. Of course that means the tape needs to be wide enough so there should be a check on the media to make sure the label can be printed. I've not used the app much and I will continue to make suggestions in picture posts. Nice start Brother!

Too basic

Flair1234

Just brought a p touch label maker, was looking forward to using the app... It can only create one label at a time and you can only have one text box, no cutline option. Very tedious to use, I rather use the computer software...it's ok if you are only printing templates though

More options than Mac P-touch Editor

commorancy

Don't listen to Flair1234. They just couldn't figure out where to find the cutting options. In fact, this version has a wide number of cutting options including Auto Cut, Half Cut, Chain Printing (continuous) and Special Paper. In fact, it has many more cutting options than on P-touch Editor on Mac OS. These cut settings are toggles that you can mix and match. It even shows you a preview of how it will cut, which is very handy. This setting can be found under the gear icon. The app works well and prints just fine. Brother just needs to work on making the app's UI compatible with the higher res screen on an iPhone 7 plus. it runs at such a low res.

klunky and no iphone 6/7 plus screen support

aosty

It works but is fairly basic and klunky. The network connection can also sometimes be fussy. And there's still no support for the higher resolution display on the iPhone 6 Plus that has been available for nearly 3 years.

Wish I could leave no stars

Interwebz

In todays world, it shouldnt be unreasonable that you could create templates and upload them to the mobile app. Apparently that is WAY beyond the abilities of Brother. You can ONLY print from the most simplistic, useless templates. With no ability to make ones that will help you in the least. If you are looking to label a 4-year olds toybox, it works great.

Bad Update

JenMN99

The new update no longer adjusts the length of the tape according to the words. It's basically useless.
