Great but asks the impossible
The routines are great and really do work you for the amount of time required. But some nitpicks show that there wasn't much thought in the app development. For example, you're asked to do 12 lunges with 4 second holds in 30 seconds. Anyone with a basic knowledge of math sees that that is literally impossible. So what up, app?

This is a wonderful app and I have yet to scratch the surface of its content. After being sedentary since retirement I came across this app and started from the beginning basic workout. Warm up, exercise, cool down is covered with clear concise video tutors. I feel great and the programs are just enough to tire you out but not hammer you to the ground. Fitness goals are tracked and easily viewable. Do yourself a favor and get this for yourself.

Corresponds with the book perfectly! Easy to use and like others have said I like his straightforward encouragement. No hype or gimmicks. Thank you for making such a helpful app.

I find it very helpful for people busy with daily life and work. It provides great results in terms of fitness, effectiveness, coordination, strength, flexibility and confident, which all are needed these days. Thanks Mark.. Hooya ?

Excellent functional workout. Although a bit redundant, the workouts are functional and work anywhere you have space.

I have spent the better part of the last year traveling for business and have tried a variety of gyms and exercise routines... with travel days and time zones to contend with, and not wanting to pay for a gym membership I wouldn't fully use... I found myself at a loss... Until I found Bodyweight Training (the app version of You Are Your Own Gym). This app and routine has been a godsend. It's baseline routine steps you through each exercise, including videos and explanations on how to perform them, and it progressively builds through each cycle (stages). All you need is some floor space, a table, a couple of chairs, a towel, and a door. So pretty much - anyone can start this. Some exercises were easy for me from the start, some not so. But hey - I'm doing this to become fitter so if I couldn't do all of the exercises perfectly - that is ok! It is pretty amazing - if you stick to it it works! It includes warm up and cool down videos at each end of the workout, too, and they vary depending on the type of workout. The accompanying book YAYOG helps fill out the philosophical approach and provides additional details, but all you need to start is this app. Look no further - you have found a great workout app!
