Amazing workouts and stretches and really good feedback

Do not miss this app - so worth it! (Long review)

I have been using this app since about 2012 and it has been amazing! Back in 2011, I started working with a trainer and miracle of miracles got down to a weight I hadn’t seen since my early 20s. Built a bunch of muscle and also spent literally thousands of dollars. It was worth it at the time but then I shifted jobs and could no longer even think about affording that indulgence. Enter BodBot. It took me through the exercises I knew from my trainer and added a huge variety. I love this because I cannot build my own workouts effectively and BodBot does that for me. Pros include: Balanced workouts by muscle type. Progressive adaptations - the app tracks which weights I use and add more as I make headway. Assessments at the beginning and end of the workouts to check in on fatigue and recovery levels. Ability to include/exclude specific exercises. Countdown counters for planks and stretching. Inclusion of equipment you have access to. No free weights? No problem. Swapping out exercises during workouts. Descriptions of specific exercises with video from multiple angles. Want to do supersets? There’s a setting for that. Need to go easy on specific joints? There’s a setting for that. I’m a runner and the app takes into account my running and offers exercises to compliment that so I stay balanced. In the time that I’ve used the app, I’ve only injured myself once and that was due to incorrect form and too much weight on step ups 4 years ago. In 2014, this app helped me get down to 135 and 17% body fat at age 50. I also really like the integration with my FitBit although sometimes the two don’t always play nicely. That will be sorted soon, I’m sure. I have not used the nutrition component at all, so cannot speak to that. Sometimes the app is a bit buggy and weird disconnects can pop up but the team is really responsive to feedback. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this app. Spend the money - it is absolutely worth it.

Great app and amazing customer service!

Acts1034

While I have had a challenge with the length of my workouts being shorter than requested in my schedule preferences, I really like this app! The customer service is also fantastic! I contacted them about my issue and they’ve been working to figure it out, keeping in regular contact with me, and very generous in making it up to me (which I didn’t ask for or expect). I’m so happy to have found this app and have recommended it to several friends.

It is shortening my workouts don't install

Jazzboy1354

When I installed this last spring, it worked great. But now I only get a maximum of 3 workouts a day because it claims I only slept for 50 minutes which is entirely false. I now cannot workout today due to the very miniscule amount of exercises. TOTAL SCAM. I wish I could rate or 0 stars.

Please include a tactical goal

Andymaima

I love the app and have been using it since it’s beta days, the only problem is that I have a new goal than those on the options. Can you please develop a Tactical option that will make my body stronger, powerful with more endurance? I need something that will prepare me for the new ACFT. Thanks y’all and keep up the good work!

Disappointing

I have a few issues with this program so far. I’ll stick with it to the end of the trial and maybe it will get better. First off, the UI/UX is terrible. Sorry, but it’s bad. It looks like it was written by developer and not a designer. It’s a terrible use of screen real estate. The how-to videos are the size of postage stamps. An issue that can be remedied by simply using the screen space better. The rest of the UI is also lacking in quality and usability. I also notbinced that the ability to work certain muscles is lacking. I choose a chest/tris workout and the ONLY tricep workout it added were regular pushups. I added others but there is a poor selection. There wasn’t even video for tricep pushbacks. Which brings me to the last gripe. The how to videos that seem to have been collected at random from YouTube. I don’t mind that they are using videos they didn’t make themselves but they are SO inconsistent. Some have nearly a minute long intro others are just not useful. The app needs some serious quality improvements if it is to be taken seriously. That’s too bad because the concept is great. It just looks like it was developed by high school students. Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude. I wouldn’t write this review if there wasn’t a ton of potential. Update: I went to cancel my trial and it looks like I was charged for the year.

This is a phenomenal app!

Spock519

I really enjoy using this app. I have tried several trying to find the right one that challenges me but gives me a guided workout. BodBot is the best app I have found and used to help guide my workouts. I would recommend this app for anyone who needs a little boost in your workout time. They give daily reminders of your work out, enough to remind me to get off the couch and start moving. They have fitness tests- I just love everything about this app!! Great work BodBot!!

Pretty good

finddominic

This is the third personal trainer app I’ve tried after hating the first two (Shred and Workout). I like that the workout adjust based on how hard sets are. Seems very promising but two issues. First I can’t stop a workout early and time makes that happen some days. I just closed the app out so I hope it saves what I did. The app needs a finish button for days you don’t get to the end. Second, I don’t like the images of people working out in the underwear on my screen, especially when others can see it. Why couldn’t the models have clothes on, it’s just weird. Will update as I learn more. Final tally, uninstalled, puts cardio in the work out and won't mark workout complete without it. My cardio is separate from weights. Overall good idea with a few deal breaker poor executions.

Needs a Review Feature

Taylor1021

Overall, love the app. It’s super adaptable and works great for someone who likes to keep trying different types of workouts. However, I think a review feature at the end of the workout would really push this app over the top. If the app asked you, at the end of the workout, what you liked, what you didn’t like, what you would change (I.e. less cool down exercises, more focus on chest exercises, etc.) and adapted accordingly, that’d be perfect. Otherwise, I really enjoy the app and encourage everyone to try it.

I tried to cancel my subscription and couldn’t..

I recently purchased the app as a test try, and was unsatisfied with the app, and attempted to cancel my subscription before my free trial was up. Now I’m out 60$, and very unhappy with this, and don’t have any idea how to get my money back...
