Only have had it hooked up for two weeks but so far it works well. Another review in a few months of use will be more accurate. So far good choice for a lock.

I used to own a pin pad, that wore down because of the weather, and friends would try to “guess” code. Now, with the August lock I have full control using my own lock, and since it’s place on the inside, no one can tamper with it?

My wife and I are very pleased with the locks so far. Installation could’ve been slightly easier as we originally installed the plate on the door backwards, and a ¢1 sticker could say “Facing door” or something similar. The app is very easy to use, save for one item. We only have one house and no friends with August locks, this we only have one keychain. The app still forces us to click our keychain to gain access to the locks. It’s an unnecessary click. The default should be that if you only have one keychain, skip that screen. When a second keychain is added, then make that screen the default. It is annoying to click the literally only option on that screen. Remove that and I’ll rate this a 5.

Does not lock when you’re away from home?

Keeps saying it’s locked but it’s still saying it’s unlocked in the history and keeps changing to unlocked? Stresses you out if you’re away from home

Yes the app has some problems with iOS 13 but after talking with the company there are aware of it. That ok I only used the app to get everything up and running. I live in an apartment so I bought the August Home Smart Lock Pro, 3rd Generation, plus Connect. Which is the one that you only replace the inside part of the deadbolt. Since required to have the original lock for the maintenance keys to still work. I love it now when I have my hands full I just tell Siri on my watch to unlock foot no need to put things down to dig for keys. I don’t know why everybody is fussing there no need to open the app after everything is set up. Just use HomeKit to trigger the lock and unlock.

It has been working for a few years and it doesn’t work now. It probably is incompatible with recent ios 13 updates. I would give it 5 stars if it worked again! I called support and they walked me through a few things to try and fix the problem. It worked when I replaced all batteries even though I never received the usual warning of low batteries. I give this app 5 stars and customer service 5 stars!
