So far, so great!

Oohhjj

The August locks works just like they said it would. I really like it. I have not paired it with Alexa because I live alone and don’t see the need yet. I may do this later. I love leaving my house key and my cell phone in my purse. The door locks and unlocks automatically when I leave and when I come back home. I like knowing that if I am unwell I can let someone in without getting out of bed. Or a family member or friend can open my door remotely to let help into my home if I need assistance. It’s very reassuring to have this capability.

Connect

Dicpa

It keeps loosing connection and can’t sync lock

Great! But....

I wish I could add my ring.com to the app.

Airbnb

Won’t auto connect with my Airbnb account and issues codes. Have to manually issue codes and access dates even though this is supposed to be a key selling point. To bad it doesn’t work

HomeKit Issues

I have two August Yale locks. They work almost perfectly manually and with my WiFi. However, they do not work well at all with my Apple HomeKit. I have tried to get the issue resolved through tech support, but have had no luck. I chose this lock because of the HomeKit integration. That’s why I only give it 4 stars.

This is it

No more worrying if you locked the door or having to put your stuff down to fumble with keys. August auto locks and unlocks the door. Installation on my Schlage deadbolt was a breeze! I highly recommend the August smart lock and controller.

Works great with Yale Assure locks

Hard to rate something that doesn’t work.

I’ve stood next to the Yale Assure lock I just installed several times trying to add it to this app, but it continues to tell me ‘No lock found.’ Pretty pathetic. The Yale app works, but is virtually devoid of features. You developers need to get your act together, or add the August app features to the Yale app.

Almost perfect!

I wish I could give this app a 4.9 star review as it is ALMOST perfect for our family’s needs. I’ve owned this lock and have been using this app for almost two years now. During this time I’ve lost my “door sense” sensor and while I was unable to find a replacement online, a short and easy call to the support team resulted in them shipping a replacement overnight free of charge. My “Connect” device also maul functioned 3 months after we 1-year warranty expired. Once again I was shipped a replacement free of charge! The company stands behind its product! The only 2 things I’d wish to change in the app are: 1) the ability to customize a user’s permission. At this point a user is either a “guest” with very limited functionality or an “owner” with full control. It would be great to allow my kids the ability to open the door automatically as they approach with their phone while limiting their ability to add users, change settings, etc. 2) the “Auto Unlock” function’s radius around my house is a bit large for us. I often find my self at a neighbor’s house or walking the dog and still show “at home” on the app. I would recommend this lock to anyone who’s thinking about easy entry!
