Used to be excellent. What’s going on?

Off10cr8tive

I love to use this app when I am traveling and see a new bird. It used to be so easy to look up by location, month, color, type of bird. Now I have an interface that smashes words and only seems clear when asking for a donation. I don’t know much about birds. I’m having problems looking them up by name. I didn’t download the reference guide biI wasn’t sure I wanted it. Now I can’t find where to get it. Darn. I believe I paid for this app 4 years ago. Now they say it’s free but I have to give them my email to help them out if they need some research in my area. It’s a lot of change here for an app that no longer works on my Apple 6 phone. Ugh! Frustrated on vacation.

Crashes constantly, ID function not very useful

Elusive Bird

I live in an urban area and hear/see a certain bird daily in my neighborhood that I cannot find on this app. The ID feature is pretty cumbersome, and does not get me any birds with a song like this one. There is no feature to search for bird sightings in the larger area, very disappointing. The hotspot map is pretty useless unless you want to know someone saw an american robin in your park yesterday. Also, most importantly, I gave one star because the app crashes constantly. Especially when scrolling through the bird finder results. Pretty useless- have given it my best try, but decided to delete.

What happened to the easy interface!

bobegee

I loved the previous versions because it was easy to find a particular bird by family name. In particular, I looked for a catbird entry. If I didn’t know it was a gray catbird I would not have found it. If I were looking for a type of sparrow, it was easy to find it in the sparrow category. Please go back to the original interface. I previously rated this app at 5 stars.

Version 5.1 does not work off line

zorans63

It has the potential of being a great app if it only worked without the wifi connection. The problem I am encountering is that the data portion does not download to my iPhone 7. It starts downloading and then stalls after 50sh Mb. After many uninstalls and installs it still does not show images or bird calls. I had no such problem with an earlier version. A fix is desperately neaded. I would give it 5 stars if it worked, So it gets 3 stars because it only works with an internet connection.

Not too great

despat70

I love Audobon and what they stand for but this is a poor app. It is difficult to use and the Bird ID feature does not work. You have to have taken a picture of the bird you want to report a sighting of which I can understand would be very useful but on my device a picture from farther than three feet is useless.

Awful

this was a lovely app till they updated it now it is absolutely worthless, idiots

BRING BACK THE OLD APP PLEASE!

Renjiha

The old app was awesome with the biggest benefit being that it connected with natureshare community. You had a whole community in your hands and you kicked them to the curb. You could keep lists, easily post photos; comment on others photos; it was easy to use and worked with the IPad. All of that is gone and it is now nothing more than a bad field guide that is clunky and cumbersome to use and doesn't work right on IPad (pictures are all messed up). Why you would destroy such a worthwhile app - the best app ever- is beyond comprehension. PLEASE bring back the old app or at least give it to someone else who will bring our community back. And its been months and very few updates, as promised, have occured.. Directly from their website: We're currently working on adding sorting birds by last name and creating jump list. It works best on phones; we're working on better tablet support in the future Lost list - we're working on migrating your lost list and am actively working on fixing the problem; we appreciate you bearing with us. The ability to export your data is coming soon. We're working on migrating all users data from the old app to the new app. We have temporarily disabled the app's community features. Stay tuned! We will soon be adding the ability to view photos from all states in a single feed. Needless to say, this app is not anywhere near ready to be rolled out and as the updates are far and few between, it appears that it will never get back to what it was. It really is disappointing to say the least.

Won’t Run

Cycles4Fun

I tried to use the app. Aside from forcing you to make an account just to use the app, it won’t let me create one. I tried to create a new account but it said it already existed. I don’t recall ever creating an account with them so I checked my password manager and there is nothing there. So I tried “forgot my password” and it said my account did not exist. So, which is it? Please fix this bug, I would like to try this app.

Crashorama

I like the app, but the constant crashes are frustrating. Will probably uninstall unless the issue is fixed.

Downgraded

haddhsjeudh

I used to absolutely love this app. I used to pull this out to help visitors in our refuge visitor center...it was easy, informative and foolproof. But the recent “upgrades” have left me befuddled! I am constantly being asked to login. Why do I have to login to an app I paid $20 for? I can never get it to launch correctly, or in a timely fashion. And when I’m in the field and don’t have good cell coverage, it’s even worse! And I’m a pretty “techie” person so I don’t think it is me. I used to love having a bird book in my pocket. Now it just frustrates me.
