Really helps you see the foods you are eating

Love this app

I heard about this app on the Phit n Phat podcast. It is so easy to use and helpful in a busy lifestyle. Great idea to record feelings and thoughts while food journaling.

Sooo glad I found this app!

Best diet journaling app ever. So easy to track what you’ve ate with a simple snap of a pic. And even easier way to look back at your day by simply looking at your pics no reading detailed info. So glad I found this I’ll never nutrition journal any other way. I do Tosca Reno’s eat clean diet so this is perfect since I don’t waste my time counting calories.

Painless (and fun!) awareness

I downloaded this app instead of going to calorie counting or a fad diet (both of which I was considering). It’s been wonderful! I can easily snap a photo of my meals and there’s a fun and encouraging component to getting to capture my choices. It makes me want to make BETTER choices. You get to retroactively log why you ate, where you ate and how you felt which has given me an overall better awareness of my eating habits and I’ve since been able to cut back eating when I’m bored and not hungry. It’s helps promote self compassion because you can always get back on path if you choose an off path meal or snack. Lastly, I get to see my stats week to week, like how “on path” I’ve been towards the goals I got to set and how much time I usually go between meals.

I am working to bring more consciousness to my food choices. I tried using apps that focus on calories, and they just seemed burdensome and judgmental. This app is so easy to use, I haven’t missed logging a meal yet. Loving it.

so helpful

really cool app. I use a calorie counter app on the side, but having a visual of the food I eat, as well as a little timer that shows the time in between each meal really helps me to not overeat.

Amazing!

I love YouAte! It has made my life so much easier and I feel better about the food I am eating. I’ve lost 8 lbs since I’ve started using youate it’s helping me focus on the quality of food I am eating. I just wish there was an area to log my water. I’m horrible about getting my water in so having a spot that addresses that would help tremendously! Otherwise amazing app!

So simple it works

Simple and perfect! I’ve tried similar apps and what makes this one stand out is that it doesn’t take up exorbitant storage space. This will make you reflect on why you ate and how you feel about it, removing any judgement and not imposing any limits. This works for me: If I’m setting the rules then I’m responsible for following the rules. It’s helped me overcome overeating. It has made me aware of timing of meals for intermittent fasting. The company seems respectful of users, in thoughtful app design and limited emails that you can opt out of. If it’s not a functionality, it’d be nice to see stats like how many meals I was bored, percentage of meals in the car. Otherwise, great app, recommended 110%.

Quick, fast and efficient path to your food(s).

Their customer support from the early stages and continues until now is 5 ⭐️ .. hands down. They (Tom specifically) took the time (through multiple backs & forths) via email to explain the program and what it was meant to do (and not to do). I was evaluating this along with other similar apps. This was one of 4 programs I was running simultaneously to "journal" my food intake. But I was not doing it as a "health" thing, more so to remember what I ate and when I ate it. ? .. I am bad with eating since I just eat when I feel hungry. Also, I'm not one to whip out a phone to take pics of food as I'm more anxious about getting TO the food. ? .. Where this program shines is its simplicity. You take a pic. Tap a few specific details (if you wish). And get to the food. Quick, fast, efficient and not hard at all. There is a section for notes too if you wish to enter more info. Where (I thought) this program needs more is its simplicity as well. Yes. Sounds stupid but in my case I can't help but to want to gather as much info as possible sometimes, like numbers. Number of grams, calories, etc. BUT this program is NOT meant for that. When I first started using it, I liked the data. I wanted the data. I wanted to quantify and analyze #'s as much as I could. In the end (some 6 months later), letting the numbers go made things a lot easier. To just take a pic and eat. To be fair there is place you can enter info/description .. but it gets to be a chore after a while. But the neg is that it is NOT an option to have the #'s .. should some other users want a place to do so. (Btw, I no longer need it, just feel it would be a good "option") Which leaves the last 2 negs, which has to do with the pictures . Sometimes I can't fit the whole meal into the square. Work around: take multiple shots of foods. I would like to remove the "YouAte" logo when i share/copy to others. I keep my food pics in the app only (don't need them as in my camera roll), but sometimes I send out to others and the pesky logo is on the bottom. To be fair, it is a good way to share the app as I am using it for free and like it.

Easy and works

This app is great. Easy to use, makes me think twice before eating something...and I get ideas on what to eat from seeing what my friends eat.
