Cant take pics

DramaLlama11

I really like this app and how I can take pics to record what I eat but can you fix the problem where every time you take a pic instead of saving it the app just closes?

Easy peasey

MightyHappy

This app is a time saver. A quick snap shot of food will hold you accountable.

Break option

Downloaded this app for a simple way to keep track of what I eat while in college (gotta avoid that freshman 15) without having to fuss over calorie details. It works! I would like it more if there was an option to pause the app for an extended break time without messing up the fasting time streak or having to reset my path.

Game changer!

As a holistic Health coach I love this app and recommend it to all of my clients. I’m not a fan of counting calories or weighing your food. But the mindfulness this app creates is perfect.

So close!!

I love the idea of the app and it would be an easy 5 stars If it had the ability to put certain pictures and or meals in a "favorites" bank to use again and again. I eat the same thing a lot of the time so this would be such a great feature! Like the same idea that iTrackBites uses you can hold down on a food and it gives you the option to copy it today. lOVe it!!

I love the app!!

I've been playing around and snapping all my food today, it's kind of addicting! I love the layout, and how simple it is to use. It makes tracking fun and not miserable by counting every single carb you ingest (that's just not for me). I want to work on habits. I do wish this app had an android version, since my phone is android, and I use this on my iPad. But I'll make do somehow ;)

No calorie counting!

Kmhmjj

This app lets me easily snap a photo, pick if this fits my health goals or not, and helps me see where I need to make changes to get the most nutrition and live a healthier lifestyle. No obsessive calorie counting, stressing about if I can eat this or that while trying to stay under a certain number. I love it!

So Easy to Use!!

SandiGirl1103

I love this app. It is so easy to use! Because it is super simple, I am way more likely to use it. I wish there was a way to track water separately (so I could see my total), but it is a fantastic app regardless.

Great app!

I wanted to track what I’m eating, but I cook it all from scratch. That means that counting calories takes a really long time - calculating all that is not worth the effort. I wanted a simple log that would still help keep me on track. YouAte is exactly that! Intuitive to use, and the reminders are a nice feature. Thanks!

Best app for changing habits — & its only gonna get better!

Let’s face it: most of us know WHAT we should be eating (and what we shouldn’t, lol). The problem w poor eating habits typically isn’t lack of knowledge, it’s difficulty in changing habits. The first ingredient to habit change of any sort is becoming aware of what you are doing. And the easier that process of becoming aware is, the more likely you are to stick with it. That’s why studies where people simply snap a photo with their cellphone (of everything they eat) have shown that simple “photojournal” to be so effective. That’s where YouAte is heads and shoulders above similar apps (and I’ve tried just about every food diary type app out there!) They have created an app that is truly elegant in its simplicity. First you decide your goal, called your “path”. It can be anything from eating every so many hours, to eating mostly unprocessed foods, to avoiding sugar... Then each time you eat, you snap a photo and tap once to indicate if the food was in line with your goal (“on path”) or not (“off path”). The photo date & time are automatically saved. You can go back later if you want to add details about the meal — why you ate, where you were, how satisfying was it, etc. You can set reminders (or not). What sets YouAte apart is it is truly simple and quite elegant. You can leave it open all the time in the background, or use Hey Siri to open it, and with two taps you have recorded the meal. In addition, their customer service is outstanding. And amazingly, it’s free with no ads. If you want to share your journal with an accountability partner (which, if you really want to change your habits, you probably will ) then you can go premium for the very reasonable price of $25/year. What YouAte doesn’t do — but needs to — is show you your patterns over time. (Cronometer does this really well, but it is a calorie/nutrient tracker rather than a photojournal). For example, YouAte needs to plot your “on path” & “off path” meals on a line graph against time of day and day of week; similarly plot the optional questions about “why,” “where” (etc) you ate on line graphs versus time of day & date (including day of week). YouAte personnel assured me that these changes are already in the works (when I tapped on “chat with YouAte” within the app, they got back to me within minutes!). As long as they take care not to lose the elegant simplicity they have started with, then this app is only going to get better.
