While it says that it’s not a company based in China, it potentially might be one. It has office in China and, purportedly, it has a close relationship with Chinese governors and will help them log and spy on your browsing history. It’s not trustworthy.

Fast Connection — Hideously Antiquated UI

Just started using Astrill yesterday after a week of struggling with Express VPN’s terrible service. So far, it is very fast and connects in an instant. The UI, though, is terrible. They need to pay someone a few hundred dollars to update this antiquated interface. Finally, my coworkers app is stuck at the login screen. I imagine poor software design is responsible for this bug, and if it happens to me, I’ll be looking elsewhere for a VPN.

Freezes on Sign-In Screen

I love Astrill, but it freezes like 3 times a week on the sign-in screen. I have to delete the app and reinstall. If this could be fixed, it would be great! I’m a user in China.

Using this in China and overall very good. Goes down maybe 2-3x a year but quickly fixed.

4 devices tested iPhone iPad two msi laptops Video call function does not work video icon disappears on the windows computer Video icon doesn’t appear on iPhone and iPad Have taken the advice with “recommenced servers” for windows computers iPhone and iPad tried multiple servers Followed the directions to the settings requested They are looking into it . Please if others are having issues let them know. Skype works no problem. I can even do Facebook live. I can even do the windows app. I am refreshing my laptop but still convinced it won’t work.

I’ve heard so many positive reviews about Astrill mostly from friends. It’s the main reason that I hopped to it when it started to get a bit tricky using VPN in China in Aug./Spet., 2019. But ever since I started my 1-year subscription, it’s need pretty tough to get it to work. PC’s been having issues to get a good channel for fast enough internet, but it can still work out OK. MAC’s just terrible. The old version of the app on iOS looked like an antique but works out OK. With the update, the whole interface’s much better now, but I cannot even SIGN IN! It would stop at the signing in page all the time and there’s nothing you can really do. Hope the team can fix this SERIOUS bug ASAP.

Why should I pay for a vpn that seldom works? Could you plz improve the system. We do spend a lot on this.

Used to be the best. I have been using this app for more than 3 years and unfortunately have to admit that the last year it’s working terrible. I’m staying in China and using this app every day. I don’t know what happened with the service but I experience troubles with astrill quite often. The price for annual membership has been increased to 120$ compare to 90$ that i paid last year tho the quality is way worse than before. Not gonna pay and use it again
