New to Sous Vide

2Commute

I am new to sous vide cooking and I really like the ANOVA sous vide machine. It’s easy to use and I like monitoring everything on my phone. It has become our new favorite way to cook things. I would buy it again and recommend it to anybody.

Great Cooking Tool - WiFi Has Issues

corbintc

I love cooking with the Anova and the app, perfect meals every single time. Would be 5 stars but there are still connectivity issues when I leave the WiFi network. The app will eventually find the anova when I’m at work and trying to start it out of my home, but it takes 15-20 refreshes sometimes to reconnect to the anova to start it. Sometimes it doesn’t find it at all. Still use it on a weekly basis despite this issue.

Ehhh

Htcamp

The timer does not work on the actual device. I must set timer using the app when the app works. While all other apps are working, often Anova reports lost connection. Finding recipes on the app is a ridiculous waste of time. Go to the site. I thought it was great that I could set everything up and turn it on remotely. That does not always work. I love sous vide cooking and wish the app and the hardware worked as promised and touted.

App has bugs

If you want salmon medium cooked for 0 minutes. Now I know why my salmon was over cooked last time

Good but needs work

OldBull4

App does a good job allowing remote viewing of what’s happening with ANOVA; has very limited range, though. I’m ok with this, as I do most of the running manually. Problem comes with recipe storage: love Kenji Lopez’s stock recipes, but I can’t save favorites or other recipes to my account through the app. Ongoing since I first tried it around January 2018.

Chef Holiday Bob DeMazeliere

A good friend of mine from Switzerland happen to be visiting and told me about the sous vide in the cooker and how to use it the first time I tried it I did not have a machine to cook it I had a pot and I did have a meal sealer so that worked out fine and it was delicious but I mediately I did my researching and I am very happy with the product I can’t stop using it it’s the greatest day and I love the style of cooking I have one some contest in smoking meats thank you very much Holiday Bob DeMazeliere.

Anova Sous Vide

This is a decent app, but lacks several useful and functional tools— such as a “pause” feature (as opposed to “stop”) that would allow you to raise the appliance above minimum required water level, insert food bags, replace appliance and resume a particular cook from the point it was paused; would also be useful to control multiple appliances simultaneously from the app.

Forces you to create an account to use WiFi

Captain Blanton

This app now forces you to create an account to connect your $200 device to WiFi. Instead of suggesting I contact support, how about explaining to all of your customers why we are being forced to create an account, and what you do with all of the personal data that you collect.

Great cooker, app needs overhaul

Joostonkruuples

The app needs an overhaul. Please start from scratch. Loses connection to Bluetooth when only a couple feet away. Using iPhoneX, Bluetooth Anova. Love the cooker, hate the app. Regularly receive the “go back in range” notification when I’m less than 10’ from the device...Aargh!
