The app does not connect to the device 70% of the time. Regardless of restarts, sometimes it just does not want to work. When it does work, this is a great help. But setting the anova manually takes 1000% less time than trying to get this awful app to work. In this day and age this isn’t difficult. Are you even trying?

Great cooking tool, lousy app

I now swear by cooking with a water bath. The app will not connect to wireless and only occasionally to Bluetooth. I use it for times and temperatures and have to control the Anova manually. A small price to pay

Not impressed

I have better chance of seeing my WiFi signal than connecting this device. Bluetooth does not connect easy at all. Not impressed so far

The sous vide works amazing. I just wish I could consistently connect to my sous vide and cook with the app.

Works, but many glitches

When it works, the app is pretty easy to use, but it has a number of annoying issues with the user interface. It will become unable to communicate with the Anova device, telling me it’s out of range, which is a bit hard to believe when I’m holding my phone less than 6 inches (15cm) away. It also is fond of displaying a notification count on the app icon, but giving me no way to find the actual notifications. The app will tell me that it’s been keeping my food warm for 150 hours, when in fact the Anova has been unplugged.

The sick is great! I use the app as general cooking guide. I don’t bother running my stick from the app as the controls on the stick are so easy to use and the cooking process is so simple.

WiFi connection rarely works

Love the tool itself and the recipes and guidelines work well. I just find it pretty impossible to get the device to connect to my phone so I can set the settings. Not a deal breaker but definitely a bummer.

App / WiFi / connection is terrible

I have to start over every single time I use it!! I have to disconnect and reconnect to get the App to work. So annoying and such a waste of time. The thing can never find the app or reconnect if I leave and come back. Basically useless to me.

I use it often to great results. I don’t use the app for time and temp tho, it’s redundant and superfluous; it is great for recipes and reference.
