Terrible update

VdutchS

The new version of the app is garbage.

Update bad

Davidpmac

I use to enjoy this app. Why fix something that is not broken. With the new update, lost all of my recipes. Interface isn’t as good. IT guys need to leave things along.

Poor functionality

I love using my Anova but detest using the app. It frequently disconnects and cannot reconnect to my cooker. My wifi capable cooker has a tough time staying connected to the app.

The new version is less responsive

JoJoBug

The way to to set temperature and timer became harder to find and less responsive.

Change isn’t always good

akuma291

The layout is not that user friendly anymore and for some odd reason, the timer doesn’t count down anymore. Using the cooking guides, it just shows the timer as “0:00”. Also when I set the temperature, it automatically reduces the temperature lower. For example, if the recipe is at 140 degrees, the app will change it to 135 degrees. It doesn’t seem like it’s working right.

Anova app changes

What the heck happened to your excellent app. This update looks awful. Very un-useable. It’s all jumbled up. It connects to my cooker quickly but after I select a recipe I can’t adjust anything or set the time. Please fix

Great Device, Not-So-Great App

Judge Anselm

I received my Anova as a Christmas gift (2017), and I use it at least once a week. This is certainly among the better gifts I have ever been given. The accompanying app, however, is anything but. Inputting desired cooking time and temperature is easy enough, so it has that going for it. (The preheat timer is a questionable addition, but that's neither here nor there.) My gripe, though, is with one of the app's key features: saving in My Recipes is not possible. This has held true despite several "bug fix" updates. There isn't much to it. Give your recipe a name, set a temperature, and set a time. (There isn't a place for one to enter notes, so maybe that could be a future inclusion.) Once I enter that and push Save in the upper-right corner, the app freezes. I haven't tried to save a recipe while cooking something, so I can't comment on how this impacts timer tracking. To sum it up, the cooker itself is fantastic. The app handles basic functionality, but you will need another app (or pen and paper) to make note of your recipes. Downloaded on iPhone 7+ (iOS 10.3.3), app version 2.8.8

Can’t enter temp on my personal recipes.

That annoying beep!

HealthyHale

We have the Bluetooth version and iPhones. Never had a connectivity issue and it cooks great. The only complaint I have is that when cooking is done the thing CONTINUES TO BEEP! Even if I hit “stop” on my phone. It’ll only stop if you touch the device. It’s annoying as hell when you’re cooking dinner in it and can’t get to the cooker right away “Mommy what’s that beep?!”?

App is very buggy

Roamannome

Fortunately there are the manual settings on the sous vide itself otherwise this would be a complete piece of junk. I’m on my second one and have yet to ever be able to connect to wifi. Bluetooth works some of the time. I love the actual sous vide itself and that it does have manual settings unlike the joule last I checked but this app is terrible as is wifi connectivity or lack there of.
