I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and range of the cameras. The 1080P resolution and ability to zoom in real time, as well as in playback mode is a plus. We also have three Arlo cameras and base station, that while offering an equally exceptional video feed, tend to devour batteries regularly. But Amcrest’s wireless configuration, while powered by 12 volts and with greater range, limits your camera locations to within reach of an AC outlet unless you ha a 12 volt feed (we use our 12 volt emergency power source to power the cameras which view the exterior of the house). Both systems require AC power for their network interface, and since our network hardware is on a UPS, we receive notifications regardless if the power fails. In conclusion, this system gets four stars, only because of the somewhat confusing setup instructions, which in my opinion, lack the detailed information necessary to confidently interpret and understand the software interface, unless you are somewhat “tech savvy”! This camera and system is of top quality and is built very well. After several systems of considerably less quality, Amcrest is a very much welcome and pleasant change of pace, which earns it an overall rating of FIVE STARS!
The app works great with the camera. I wish the layout was a little different but I find the interface to be simple enough. I like it!
The cameras work great when they actually work. The software and the app for these cameras is terrible. I’ve had nothing but problems. I have them all set up throwing the ip config and then after time they don’t work at all as far as recording and motion detect. The Cloud is expensive if you have 8 cameras like I do. I wish I had bought other cameras these are terrible.
Very good.3 year’s and nothing wrong. I am lazy, because of that I now do Review.sorry Amcrest.its really good
Other cameras I can click on, click review and immediately see last few minutes. Not these. I’m selling them all
Worst. Device. Ever. Unit worked as long as WiFi worked- acceptable. God forbid if you have to change routers. Unit won’t connect to new internet and won’t forget the old settings. Can’t install a new one to get around it. And- to add to all the confusion, the ‘smart’ scan device wouldn’t recognize the model number- had to enter it by hand trying to see the microscopic text on the tag. Amcrest, you dropped the ball on this one, especially if anything goes differently than the initial setup.
Please give us back the previous version as v4 makes viewing the cameras a terrible experience
The 4 camera view got much smaller on mobile device after this update. Like the aspect ratio changed. Dislike turning to landscape or double tapping when I could see fine before the update
App worked yesterday just fine connecting to my cameras. After the update, can’t connect to any of my cameras. It simply times out... Since you haven’t fixed the email snapshot problem (see Amcrest Forums), all of my cameras are pretty much useless!!! Serious degraded resolution problems also exist with this app “update”. Amcrest, revisit your brand! Your updates make your solution difficult, not secure, and unreliable for customers. Amcrest is basically creating these continued problems directly from their team. People, find another product, this company is trash. This was my lesson learned purchasing from this company.
