Horrible response. No connection. If

If you do get in and actually pick a show it stops about five minutes in and goes nowhere. Do not waste your time or money.

Paying for nothing

I’m paying a subscription fee through iTunes for Acorn, but it won’t let me log in on my iPad. The content is first rate, but the company needs to fix the app.

Abysmal Tech Support
KelleeKSikes

I have had Acorn TV account since 2014. I subscribed on a whim to be able to watch full season of Miss Fischer’s Murder Mysteries (Now on Netflix). From time to time I have found other shows I like to watch. However... - Their buffering is awful on networks where Netflix, Hulu and Prime do not have issues - Many shows that are new to the app they release an episode a week, and movies and series may be on the app only for a blink of an eye with a month long teaser before they arrive - my mail box is constantly deluged with emails from Acorn on videos I can buy from them (um...I stream, I don’t buy) - Their interface is clunky and a pain to navigate, without a watch the next episode feature you are trying to remember where you left off - Their selection is small and most of it very old (I am curious to see how Brit Box compares But the Kiss of Death is the number of subscription tech issues I have had and the number of general tech issues, when the only support they provide is by email. And in most cases I have been sent a form reply that clearly shows that no one read my tech issue in the first place. Prefect example, for the last month I have not been able to watch anything on Acorn on my Apple TV, although it works fine on my iPad. Acorn says it is an issue with Apple and I need to resolve it through iTunes. Apple, after an hour on the phone with them and escalated to level 3 support says there is nothing wrong with my Acorn subscription, or the Apple TV - Apple Support is Great - but they could not resolve the problem so it is back to Acorn. Whose support takes DAYS to respond and who keeps sending me a form letter saying I need to address the issue in iTunes. This is probably tech issue 10 I have had in the last 4ish years. So... I am thinking of watching the last of Hamish McBeth and canceling my subscription before my annual renewal comes up in a few days. I just not sure the hassle is worth the limited and old show selection they have.

Missing support for TV app
❤ 

The app both on iOS and, more importantly Apple TV, does not integrate with the TV app. This means that searching for shows in the TV app doesn’t include Acorn TV in the results nor does the recently watched section show anything watched on Acorn TV. The missing search results is really bad since it means you need to search in two places if you want to see if it’s in the AcornTV app as well as I our other apps (like iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, etc.). Not much point in having the app if your global searches won’t check it. ?

Doesn’t play on Apple TV

What’s the point of it if it doesn’t work? Watching on my iPad for now. But seriously. How hard is it to get an app working?

Poor quality app and substandard customer service
Fictreader

One of the most user unfriendly and poorly designed apps I have seen. I had a service issue with the streaming site and was very displeased with the lack of customer service and assistance. It took multiple emails and calls initiated by me to not resolve the issue. I can’t say I would recommend the service, but the programming is top shelf.

worst apple tv app
SF_KL

works great with iphone app. but worst apple tv app EVER! the apple tv app keep asking for $. which I have paid for a full annual subscription. At this day and age there’s no excuse to not to get all ios app (iphone; ipad; apple tv) working together!

Major deficiencies: 1) No resume playing 2) Does not identify watched episodes 3) It doesn’t list all the episodes of all the series (the way Netflix works) 4) No information about next series of shows that are renewed. Good features: 1) Good variety of shows
