WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE – Zipcar: cars on-demand Review

TLDR: NEVER use this company’s services. HORRIBLE customer services. Today I attempted to rent a car to do some errands. When parked in an underground parking garage, I experienced connectivity issues to the vehicle. Although I could text, call and use all other applications on my phone, ZipCar claimed I did not have the service to unlock my car. Let me just say this was the worst customer service I have EVER experienced in my entire life. I spent approximately 4 hours total on and off hold with representatives who would not answer my questions nor had the decency to help or offer any services. I got hung up on, transferred and just left on hold for hours. Finally, the company claimed they would send an emergency tow truck within an hour to tow the car out of the parking garage so we could have adequate connectivity. I found this incredible unnecessary, how does a company with zip car’s reach and resources not have an office or employees whose job is to help maintain their vehicles in the area. Are there no extra Zipcards to aid when this type of problem occurs?? (And I have heard this happens often.) After waiting 3 hours, I finally left the site as the tow truck had not come and I couldn’t get ahold of Zipcar at all. I had around $400 worth of groceries in the car which were now ruined. After all of this, they only offered to give me a $30 driving credit to my account, although the experience had cost me over $80 to keep extending the trip. This is absolutely insane. How can a company even think after putting their customers through so much pain and giving such unsatisfactory service that this is an acceptable reparation. When I went to try and retrieve my belongings from the car hours later, the car would not start and I again could not get ahold of Zipcar (although they said they would call back immediately, they never did) and I had to walk several blocks and take an Uber in order to get my belongings in a dangerous neighborhood at night as a single woman. I am in absolute disbelief at the unprofessionalism and all around disregard the employees had for our well being. I will never give another cent to this company and believe this issue needs to be addressed further. I will be following up with management to get justice.
