Bad performance - please address – GoFan: Buy Tickets to Events Review

For the UX, architects, and performance engineers listening.. this app is NOT about user experience. It is about reliability, function and speed. Enable low res graphics(if necessary), limited/no business rules/triggers/marketing. This needs to support ticket buying, and ticket redemption. I spent 30 minutes waiting for this app to load at my kid’s CIF track championship this past weekend, while I watched countless people just walk up, buy their tickets and enter the venue. I pre-purchased my tickets online looking to skip the line as the website suggests. I never got that benefit. Even as I try to load the app on a home (fast) WiFi, it still doesn’t load. Just sits on the GoFan load screen forever. This could be a great App with a great experience, but needs some attention. Please analyze the load experience.... ‘under load’ and determine a course of action to optimize, I will continue to use this app if these issues are addressed and will update my rating accordingly. One additional thought: if you are resuming the same static content/ images, set the time to live to something very long... like 30 days. This way your CDN provider wi not flush/invalidate your cache expiration that may be set to low. Also, look at the chattiness, and # of calls your front end is making to your web/app servers. There may be plug-ins/calls with extremely high latency and serve times that are bottlenecks to the responsiveness. Kill those immediately. Look at SQL caching at the dB tier and look at your hit ratios. Any login/profile retrieval/ my tickets retrieval queries should be cached for re-use. If you’re using AWS, or some hosted cloud service, consider some data caching tech like Reddis or something like that for customer profile/cart mgmt/current orders, etc to increase performance. If you are completely not in control of your own destiny with some 3rd party provider that hides their reliability under a SaaS contract umbrella, then figure out how you can either a) improve your current position, or 2) leave them. Apologize for the lengthy review, but I always believe anything in a horrible state can be improved. Regards
