It Works – PlatterSpeed - Vinyl Tool Review

This App appears to be very precise in allowing you to see how your turntable is performing over time. On my turntable set up record by Cardas, one of the 1000 hz bands was consistently variable while the other two were perfect. What I concluded was the speed variability of the cutting head was greater than my turntable, which is to say, the turntable was faithfully playing back the flutter from the cutting head. This App has also shown that ambient temperature affects turntable performance. If I run the turntable for 5 or 10 minutes the speed consistency is better.
