Best notes app

More features than GoodNotes and notability

Have tried pretty much everything

Raster...procreate,sketchbook, etc. Vector...affinity, vectornator, concepts, notability, goodnotes, noteshelf, nebo. Given the cost of desktop class software in years past all of the above hardly equals a subscription to MS Word, let alone Office. The raster apps are best for sketching. The vector apps are best for designing, IMO. Zoomnotes is in a class by itself. It’s the best for actually thinking. It’s the app I return too in crunch time over and over again for years now. There is seldom a task I throw at it it can’t complete. Love this app!!!

One of the better digital planning apps!

Love this app because of the dedication from the creator!! I feel like I’m actually being heard on my ideas! I love how the app feels like it was made for me!! It works so well and has so many features for the price!! Definitely check it out and joking the Facebook community!!

Love this App!

I’ve been using ZoomNotes for years now. There is a bit of a learning curve but once that’s done with it is the most brilliant note app I’ve used. I think my favorite feature right now is actually the stamp button. I can put my most frequently used stickers in there and just stamp them without having to go to a separate journal for the stickers.

I’m lovin’ this app!

In all my years of using the iPad for education and design activities, this is by far my favorite app for managing notes and PDFs with annotations. The “layers” feature for Master layers ( document-wide) as well as at the PAGE level is sooooo powerful for organizing design details, for blocks of information that you may wish to toggle on and off and to make your underlying page templates sooo much more productive. FANTASTIC support from the developer whenever a question arises and seems very receptive to hearing users’ feedback to keep ZoomNotes growing in its effectiveness. Definitely worth the app fee to go up to the full version! I continue to learn new uses each week thanks to the very active users discussion group on social media.

AMAZING!

Update: there is a way to save fonts!!! I use this app for my digital planner and I really like that I can add a “link” on a tab and it will jump to that page. The only thing that is missing for me is to be able to favorite few fonts to I can use it in specific pages. The developer is quite active on the Facebook page. Overall, great app and I highly recommend it!

The BEST ...

What an amazing app for my journal/planner. Fonts or handwriting, links to internal pages or website pages, symbols cache for my personal sticker collection ... and of course, Ed ... the most responsive developer of all time.

Digital Bullet Journal / Planning

Dec2019 update: ZN is still my favorite planner app. In 2019 I switched around a lot. Setup two different planners in ZN, looked at switching back to GoodNotes, and tried to switch to just an iCal + ToDo app. In the end I found myself back to ZN and a simplified iCal-reminders. With ZN I can use an existing PDF planner and modify it to suit my needs. Using layers and adding my own links are super powerful. Create background & layout layers to keep stickers or images separate from your background, add a master layer for tabs so you only need to label your planner tabs 1x instead of on every page. I keep links on a separate layer that is not a master layer this way I can have a common placement for a link (say top right corner of the page) that goes to a similar but different page such as the current monthly habit tracker. A layer for pen/text that acts as the place daily work happens. When everything is done for that day/week/month I can compress the layers all to background which helps keep file size down. I get all the flexibility of layers, long term history of a journal or planner. Original review: Great app for digital planning. Create layers, sub-documents. Several customizable pen options, create multiple color pallets, and so much more. The developer is quick to respond to questions, suggestion and problem solving.

Great App! Worth the time!

I have been using ZoomNotes off and on for a year or so. I am currently using it daily! It has everything I need in one place. I am particularly LOVING the subpages. I have my weekly layout with my daily as a subpage right on the date! All in ONE place! And the layers make it so easy to be creative. The development team is very attentive to feedback and quick to support! There is still a pretty steep learning curve (but so many great videos out there to help!) And definitely worth the time. Keep up the great work ZoomNotes team!!
