Worse With Each Update

This app just keeps getting worse with each update and the support link no longer works. My emails to Support keep bouncing back to me. Typing is a basic feature for a note-taking app and one would expect that text alignment should be simple without extra steps to have a smooth typing flow. With this app, if you want a title, you create a typing box, go to the advanced text feature section, and click on center. If you want the next line to be on the left for a paragraph, you need to create a second text box, go to the advanced text feature section and click on left align. If not done this way, every line will either be centered or left-aligned including the title. A new box needs to be made for each change in alignment. I’ve mentioned this to support multiple times. The latest update makes it impossible to see the bottom of the page when typing as user can no longer adjust the page on the screen. My original review has been removed where I had written about other features which don’t work in this app. One problem is when you need to add multiple pages to a document at a time. There is no feature that allows for that and only one page at a time can be added. For instance, one of my uses of the app is for digital journaling which is one page per day. When I want to add 30+ days to a month, I can’t add 30 days at a time as it only accepts one page at a time, making it very tedious and time-consuming. This app might be feature-rich however when basic note-taking features are lacking, what good is the app for that very function is was designed for? 12/7/20 - still crappy. 12/25/20 - Still with the latest update, even though it might say you can “configure page as planner,” it’s useless when it doesn’t tell you how. 11/14/21 - This app keeps getting worse with each update. A problem began occurring a while ago when adding text when I’d be done adding text and it would disappear. Now when I click on the text icon, my writing surface all but disappears.

Updated November 2021:still wonderful and now with calendar event and reminder sync, the ability to have 3D page turning giving me realistic looking pages, and also the window feature. It is amazing! ZoomNotes is my go to app for PDF annotation, note taking, planning and living management. While the UI is not as streamlined as other apps, it is so flexible and adaptable and with the addition of smooth swiping to change pages and better handwriting to the already awesome layers feature, I am a happy customer. Totally worth the time to learn to use it properly. On top of that amazing support from developers thru their facebook group.

Been using ZoomNotes as my program for my digital planner. It’s heavily loaded with links, images, sub pages. This app without a doubt is the most complete editor I’ve come across, having spent too much money in my quest. There’s a ways to go in working out the kinks in the system but the developer is extremely responsive to questions and concerns. What I would like to see are tutorials for using the software, it’s not setup intuitively. I’m very persistent in learning and trying things, others who are not may not stay with it for very long if those don’t become available and or the user interface doesn’t become more intuitive. All it all, it’s totally worth the learning curve. 1130/21: ZoomNotes continues to grow and develop in great features!

If you can think it, you can do it in ZoomNotes. I actually purchased this app years ago, but only recently decided start working with it. In the past I didn’t take the time to learn ZoomNotes but this time I read the detailed manual provided with the app. It unlocked a whole world of possibilities and I feel like I am just scratching the surface. Things I like - Workspaces, page customization features, all of the pens!, rulers, unlimited zoom, layers, subpages, smooth, fluid writing, and so much more. Many of these features are not available on any other note taking app. Things that could be improved - sometimes it is very difficult to perform simple tasks, like changing ink color in a selection. So far I haven’t encountered anything I can’t do, but it often it takes some digging to accomplish. Overall I really love this app!

I think I’ve used most of the note taking apps that are available on the App Store. ZoomNotes can do everything that the other apps can do, just as good, if not better; and even something’s that the other apps don’t even offer. There is a learning curve to how everything works, and what different options do, but it’s worth it. The level of customization offered in the app is fantastic, and the best that there is. With other apps I found myself wishing that they could do one or two things that a different app could do and vice versa. This app can do it all! You won’t regret trying this. I was confident that I had to settle for either GoodNotes or Notability and the shortcomings that go along with both, but I now see that settling doesn’t have to happen. Awesome app, I can’t really think of any cons other than the UI looks a little dated compared to the other apps, but functionally there’s no comparison.

Love, love, love this app! I use it for digital planning and it has not only allowed me more creative freedom with my layouts, but it also pulls in my calendar events and reminders, making my life a whole lot easier as there is no need for me to update manually. A phrase I hear often in the ZoomNotes community is “if you can think it, ZoomNotes can do it”…it’s true! Highly recommend!

6 months ago I probably wouldn’t have given 5 stars. But the app has gone through so many upgrades its definitely worth it now. If the app doesn’t already do what you need send an email and wait, I’m sure the upgrade is already in work. Update: I never even use the other apps I used to use anymore. My tablet deleted them for disuse during my last cleanup. ZoomNotes is all you’ll ever need. Update: still love it

I think Zoom Notes is a good app. more features and settings you could ever want. However, I no longer use Zoom Notes because it has some issues that I fine quirky. The Interface buttons have been improved but we lose some customization. Some of the pop-out button windows stay open and won’t close. When you create a new document, it will add blank pages to the end of the document automatically if the outer canvas is revealed. My biggest disappointment, which I wanted is that you can only export transparent PNG’s and re-import them into ZN for the transparency to work. You cannot export a transparent PNG to import into other application like a paint program. The SVG export does not retain the same look that you made in ZN. If you are looking for an app that can handle word processing pages with continual pages. Not this app. This is mostly a handwriting app, which it does well. Like I said, good app, but still needs some improvements.
