App has too many issues...

I have several yi cameras, and used to think it was a great system. Lately though, the app has so many issues. My biggest pet peeve is that the alert thumbnails only load for the first few alerts. As you scroll through the alerts, the thumbnails do not appear until you click on one. Then a few more appear. You have to keep doing this as you scroll. The push notifications also DO NOT work at all on my iPhone 11. Since upgrading my phone, I never get motion alert notifications anymore. All notification permissions and setting are on, and this is the only app that I have this issue with. Makes the motion settings pretty pointless. I’m really hoping yi will fix these issues soon, or I’ll have to move on and find a different system.


Can not connect to the WiFi

I updated the app and now, while on 2G, I not only don’t see the WiFi when it says “waiting to connect “ on the app, I am not able to write it in. The name of the WiFi usually pops up when it’s time to connect but now I can’t even connect to it or write the WiFi name in. So I can’t use it with my main iPhone. It works on just one old iPhone. I don’t know what’s wrong with it but it’s very odd.


80% hang up

Bored at soccer practice

If your camera hangs at 80% hit the settings button then the alert button and live view should be available


Never received cloud subscription

I spent $199 on a 1 year cloud subscription that I purchased through my Apple subscriptions. It said this would automatically update in my app but it did not. I contacted Yi support and they requested a bunch of proof, sent it to them, then I never heard back, even after an additional follow up email. Pretty disappointed because I’ve really enjoyed the service otherwise. Now I have to waste my time requesting a refund through Apple. This gap shouldn’t be an issue and your lack of customer service once proof was received is disappointing.

The cameras are easy to set up. The quality of the videos is very good. Be sure to put in pin protection for privacy. The best part is the absence of service charges.

Bought this product for use locally, not interested in the cloud, now I have to pay monthly fee to see the history, otherwise doesn’t show in the camera

The app is terrible

The update to the app has made all of our cameras not work. They have been factory reset twice, which is a major inconvenience because 2 of them are mounted outside 20 feet off the ground. Now, again, one camera is not working and all the other ones are showing different errors every time we try accessing them. It’s like all the money we have spent on cameras are wasted now.
