I hate how they added secret cheating to the app. Also the dictionary changes all the time without notice--very frustrating. Zynga doesn't care about its core users, only monetization.

Old version vs. newer

Never had a problem with the old version. The new version frequently malfunctions; I have to log out and back in to get some of the features to work.

I really like this game and most all word games. I enjoyed this game more before they started adding all the gimmicks. I wish there was a way to bypass the fictional characters and colored tiles and rankings and.... I just want to play the game. I want the basic game back.

Cut the Zoom

The automatic zoom that is happening with the first move is annoying. I have to pinch the screen every time I try a letter and decide against it. Just plain irritating. Fact that next player only responds to human finger and not smart stylus is also annoying. And as long as I speaking about annoying things. The fact that the screen jumps all over in the Duels is also annoying. Sometimes I can’t even get to the square where I placed the last letter as the screen is jumping all over the place. Nonetheless, I play regularly and enjoy the game. But, please, give some thought to making it more pleasant and less annoying.

Updating to add that the game is SUPER glitchy, 11/3 won’t even load. Agree with other posters that the stickers and auto-zoom need to go the way of the dodo bird. The ads were annoying when I joined a few months ago, but they are getting longer and more frequent. It’s really detracting from the game (and I’ll stop playing before I pay for ad-free). Also, if you have anything remotely female-sounding to your user name, expect random men with a very set script to bother you for personal info about your life and wanting to chat outside the app. The premise itself is good, and there are a lot of fun aspects, but it has gotten so irritating that it will soon no longer be worth the hassle.
