Someone's Child

Nice game but mine keeps on crashing every time I try to load the fourth battle.

Really good war game

PiHead

This is just a fantastic war game. Graphics are very good right down to the history of each unit and equipment piece. Game play is solid with a good amount of strategy. There a few issues like text getting cutoff in the events in the journal and large explosions graphics that are black polygons (hardly ever see it). But these minor issues are just that, minor.... And rare. If you like historical war gaming then you'll love this. Can't wait to play the other WW2 and civil wars battles that are coming soon.

Challenging turn-based game

Jarascurse

This is a good turn-based game that's easy to start and calls for good strategic and tactical thinking.

Really good war game

Devilwoman21

Plays well on iPad and is very reminiscent of board games without the hassle I look forward to the new modules

Fun, Excellent Programming for the Interface BUT...

AvianoSaint

I cannot say enough about the excellent interface! Superb! Normandy is FUN to play and I have purchased the entire add-on battles. October War frequently is Not Fun, as the Arab army in several battles are Super Elite units (Supermen?). Destroying Israeli units easily at 1 to 1 odds while the reverse is not true. Even 4 to 1 odds by the Israelis will not destroy Arab units in the same battle with no terrain defense bonus. TOO BAD! So I have not purchased it's add-ons. I do expect to purchase their next add-on battle and probably any future battles as the interface is exceptional. Do you hear that Hex Wars?

Great!!

More games and more features, please!

Huzzah!!!

A surprisingly good game. Worth every penny.

Excellent

TheDudeAbided

If you are looking for a deep, engaging turn-based hex-and-counter wargame on iOS, here you go, plenty of depth and with a rules set that covers everything you'd expect, but with enough folded into the background that even newbies should be able to get playing fairly quickly. WW2 in Normandy and Arab-Israeli October War or covered extensively with loads of smaller scenarios and big campaigns, all historical and well-balanced. Good graphics, clear without being cartoony. AI is better in small games, but the larger battles are where the game really shines. The UI takes some getting used to -- how to examine stacks of units, or how to add support to a combat -- but everything becomes clear with a few plays. IAP gets you bigger scenarios and is well worth it. It runs smoothly on both an iPad 3 and Pro. The only reason this review is missing the fifth star is because there are problems with online multiplayer. This game would be so great playing human opponents. I think this is a big reason that the game remains so underrated, if online play was active, there would be a bigger following. It has been long time since an update, but the third installment, the Eastern front battle of Kharkov, is near complete. Hopefully the developers will continue to support this excellent game.

Shame no one is on multiplayer. Amazing game.

Lost in Tactics

Running iPad Pro 10.5 (2017 Model) iOS 10.3.3 This game is definitely one of our classics. You Wargamers need to support! All this complaining about iOS having free to play crap, but then when something good comes along... you don't support it? Hence all the crap. All talk but no support. This gem, is a straight up iOS classic. Right along up there with: •Rome Total War •Planar Conquest •Banner Saga •Realpolotiks •XCOM •Battle Academy •Starbase Orion •Ascendancy (Before the logic brothers abandoned it) UI is SLICK here, very well done. It comes across like ice cream, I want it for all my iOS experiences! Apple should be contracting these guys for some UI design lessons. Graphics are beautifully done, well rendered. Silky smooth frame rate. This game is deep, has the depth, nice history lesson to boot (you'll have to read the excerpts for the history) so it's optional. You grown ups know what I'm talking about. It's always a good thing to have something educational to bring up when we're at social gatherings.

Addresses neglected conflicts

ChrisNJ111

One of the only games on any platform to address the Arab-Israeli conflicts. I can’t wait until the Korean War scenario is complete. I hope the developers continue to add content and continue to address conflicts that are ignored by most games.
