Loving this game

Heliumsmile

The game play is clean, smart, and crisp. It has a great feel to it. I successfully jumped right in after i got it as the system is very intuitive. Each scenario gave me a good fight that was enjoyable and good fun. There are a few glitches that I've heard are being fixed. Other than that, i have no complaints and feel that i will be playing this game for a long time, especially with the expansions that are planned for it. Games like this are the reason I'm an ipad-only gamer these days.

Real Wargaming!

War games are improving on iPads. Being a fan of war games, I'm becoming increasingly optimistic about it's future. It's always been a tiny (but enthusiastic) niche in board and computer games, but if titles as well built as this one continue to get published, it will grow. Until a few years ago, all wargames on computers were acade-style. This one (and a few other titles) are changing that in a big way. This is a real wargame. One you can crunch numbers and develop real strategies and tactics. Bravo!! I hope people support titles like this, because they are harder to develop, but are intelligent, immersive experiences.with new battles coming out at a regular clip, this game will create new wargames in boardgame form, also.

Lots of potential

Vjs1958

Great game system but really needs an undo move command. It's too easy on a touchpad to make wrong moves. Also needs the ability to set up private email games. I've twice had someone join a game I created before the person I wanted to play could join.

Solid if expensive turn based strategy game

Yodaman70

Awesome game but a couple of items need improvement and cost is a little too high. App should be free and should come with one section free. Then $10 per additional area would be more tolerable. Also as far as a gameplay, an undo move is needed. However has lots of reply value and great visuals.

Great game

Totally worth the $$$

Worth the $

One of the few games I am glad I paid. No pay to win, honest up front charge with additional scenarios to purchase if you are enjoying yourself. The mechanics of battle are seemingly simple but there is plenty of depth if you want to micro manage. Excellent.

Hesitant I was

Still a bit early for a review after only 4 battles. So far so good. Maybe a little easy so far but time will tell and I will update.

Excellent Wargame

Orcalaw

Lots of fun, really evokes the feel of board war gaming but also very easy to get into; would happily recommend it to anyone with an interest in strategic games and/or history even if they had no war gaming experience. Love all the history packed in - the daily briefings, unit histories, equipment profiles etc. Currently there are battles for the 1973 Arab-Israeli October War and the 1944 invasion of Normandy (D-day), but others are in the works. Will be interesting to see how well the engine translates to older battles like Austerlitz and Gettysburg, but I'm hopeful.

Why are the IAPs more expensive than the base game?

Hemacu

Bad pricing model. My fault for not checking, but now it will be a while until I play as I don't feel I have the full product for either Normandy or 73. Disappointed by that alone.

The Good, the Bad (but no ugly).

Review is based on the first two basic modules only. The game looks and plays great. The units and maps are beautiful, and the developers are very devoted, and nice helpful folks as well. I love the selection of battles, and look forward to each new release. So what`s my problem? I would say it`s the tiny battlefields, and how the combat works. The historic write-ups, and pictures of the units are in wonderful, and really get you in the mood for the battle. The fighting though really negates any differences in the battles or units, it`s just combat factors. Basically you just create big stacks and butt them up against your opponent. There is no maneuvering, breakthroughs, or cutting supply, it`s operational battles on tactical sized maps. Maybe the older battles will open things up. I would suggest; enlarging the maps, making the units smaller, or enforce stacking limits to open things up. If someone who has purchased the additional content says things are different, I would like to see your review, thanks.
