Vermillion Watch - Intriguing new series from Eipix!
Izzyoc

3.5 stars bumped up to 4 Set in the late 1800s in London, the scenery is dark, grey and grim - a perfect setting for the story but tough on the eyes. Although the story of the secret society fighting evil is an old one, I did enjoy the various literary characters brought to life in this game - mixing and matching from different books. Irene Alder meet Phileus Fogg! Nice customizable options of play (as to be expected from Eipix), collectible signs in each scene (some hard to find due to the dark settings), transportable map that shows where actions are needed, morphing objects in some of the HOGs (a symbol will indicate if there is one, and if you have found it). A few vermin :). Upcoming Games from Big Fish Games: (# stars is average review on BigFishGames.com for the PC or Mac version, date is the day the game was first released on any platform - usually PC or Mac) Haunted Hotel: Axiom Butcher (4.1 stars, Elephant Games, May '16) Keeper of Antiques: Revived Book (4.5 stars, Elefun, Jun. '16) Dark Realm: Lord of the Winds (3.7 , Mad Head Games, Sept. '16)

Great game!

Not done yet, so it may turn out to be too short, but it's very enjoyable.

I Want "More" of "Moorgate"! Great Start to a New Series!

What a surprise to finally play the first game of a series, which was never released before on iPad. The context comprises a dark supernatural fantasy, which takes place in London during the 19th century when you inherit your uncle's fortune, along with the responsibility of protecting the city from a sinister monster. The scenery is embellished with a copious amount of Victorian-era furnishings and decor, such as the old mansions with winding, carpeted staircases and arched bookshelves built into the walls; rows of attached townhouses illuminated by the gas-lit street lamps; and the industrialized brick factories, which hide the secretive underground world of corruption. The characters are dressed in eccentric fashion--true to Victorian vintage, with a touch of steampunk--with the related clothing and accessories, such as the following: women's corsets over bustle skirts and lace blouses; high lace-up boots; top hats, which represent the social status of a gentleman; gaudy embroideries; fitted jackets with buckles; and scholarly spectacles. The graphics are mediocre, as usual, in the crispness and clarity of details. The murky color scheme creates an unrelenting trepidation throughout the fog-enveloped cobblestone streets as you explore London's slums during the dusk hours. You can customize your settings; options are sufficient. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map permits brisk transport to labeled locations and indicates available actions. The visionary ideas and the innovative mechanics, as demonstrated through the HOSs, are a clear indication of why this developer is amongst my favorite in this craftsmanship; for example, I'm referring to the scene in the Pesticide Factory where you turn a spinning cabinet around to activate differentiated formats. The clever themes complement the storyline in such a novel approach that I feel drawn into the storyline. The puzzles are varied and well-suited to the concept of the story. One type is to rotate various body parts to assemble a complete profile of the attacker from the alley. Others are of the "moving one object affects another" format. The collectibles are significantly camouflaged within the inky background, rendering them a challenge to find. In summary, I think that this is a well-rounded game composed of the main requirements we adore, including enough creativity and diversity to satisfy anyone's craving. I do wish that a journal was incorporated, but it certainly is a trivial quibble. I did not experience any glitches--something not surprising about Eipix. I have greatly enjoyed the last three consecutive games, and I hope this uplifting trend continues. A solid 4 stars from me!

Super fun game

Hols my interest and a variety of hidden object scenes and puzzles.

It's ok
Yourmotherisapig

From what I can see it's pretty. But it is really dark. Have to tap items two or three times to get them to work. Haven't bought it because I've been burned before. Will wait for reviews from people you have played whole game.

Vermillion Watch OUT!!

Dear Big Fish~ Please give us more creepy, eerie, hair-raising games like this. I particularly like ones with things that make us shiver or squirm like rodents.

Too Many Cutscenes
