Love the FIOS app

I find the FIOS app to be very easy to use and intuitive. I wish FIOS’s online site was this good. I find the online one useless and frustrating.

I wish this app was better than what it is now because there’s a lot you can’t do certain things you can’t watch oh you have to connect to your Wi-Fi at home I wish you could use it anywhere without have to connect to your Wi-Fi at home

0 stars for the 0 shows I can actually watch on this app. It’s “troubleshooting” tells me I don’t have the bandwidth for quality video, yet somehow Netflix, YouTube, twitch, and every other video program seems to have no issues. Get your act together Fios.


Good concept poorly executed

Disappointed FIOS Mobile User

I wrote most of the review that follows many months ago and what I wrote still holds true today. I have used the various incarnations of FIOS Mobile over a couple of years and on various devices. It never has lived up to its promises. It is unreliable and manages to fail when you most need it. Channels such as USA and TNT freeze frequently, killing your ability to follow a plot. The most recent addition is returning to the dashboard on its own in the midst of watching a show. Every time it updates, it requires a new login. Who walks around with their FIOS login handy? And the way in which shows are listed on the IOS is confusing. The remote works sometimes, and not others. Very disappointing.

Well the updated app has come out. The problem still exists and here is the VERIZON reply to my latest help request: Verizon Support Hi, Thank you for using the FiOS Mobile app. In regards to your inquiry, There is a known streaming issue affecting a few iOS users and the Dev Team is currently investigating the root cause of this issue. I apologize as I understand this might have been an inconvenience. I will ensure to keep you posted with our progress. Bellow are my other 2 reviews of this app. I was holding off on the total lack of help from VERIZON or their app producer till the updated app comes out. Well the updated app has come (yesterday), I have updated and the exact same problem occurs. Plays for about ten minutes then error 1064 and the app stops playing and locks up. Total waste of time and effort. One Starr because you can’t do zero stars. Next if I can get is a service call. Below is my original review of this app and after several attempts from the people who service this app from VERIZON is their last response to me, there is some help on the horizon Hi; The VMS_1064 is a timeout error when communicating with the VMS box. Verizon is aware of some freezing issues with the Fios Mobile app while streaming. We are expecting to release another version in Jan'' 18. I do not have a specific release date at this time Previous review: This app is unusable as it is on WiFi. Anytime after 12 min or sometimes even after a refresh and restart 2 minuets the app shuts down and gives an error message, retry error 1064. Ran diagnostics on router, and set top box and all is ok, even upgraded to 100meg service and still the same. Netflix streaming fine. Even when playing a recording via the DVR on the set top box it will after a while lock up. This program as it sits is not usable and if we are paying for this service as part of our monthly bill, we should all get a refund. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

This app constantly fails to stream content. We usually end up restarting it. The app shows cryptic error messages that not even customer or technical support know what they are; that is if you ever got a hold of them. If Verizon just wants to brag about that they provide an app for streaming, they should work on the reliability of the app. I use it just because there is no other choice.


It would be great if it worked well

This app continuously freezes in my iPad screen, even though I am using a FIOS fiber 50Mbps connection and an advanced wireless router supplied by Verizon. Another weakness is that most of the channels in my FIOS lineup are not available for watching with this app, so its value is very limited. I hope Verizon keeps improving it to address these issues.

All that’s needed now is the video to fit the full screen of my iPhone X or at least an option to expand like YouTube!!!

App is slow and freezes. Need to be made easier to switch channels. All subscribed channels should be available home and away upon verification of subscription. After 2 years, the app still has not improved. Needs a lot of work.
