The USA today application is a top notched news app that even has up to the minute notification alerts if you so desire to be on top of every event. The app runs smoothly and the video feeds are fantastic, along with the quality news stories they choose to air. It's almost up there with the NY Times in my opinion.

Enjoyed this app for several years and like many others I'm disappointed with the websites popping up for no reason. Deleted this annoying, redirecting app after its latest update.
ADS, ADS and more ADS

Wow, and I thought it was just me. Recently video ads just keep popping up - and it doesn't seem like I'm any where near a link to do that. After CNN messed up their app enough I've been using USA. But with this new ad campaign they have going, I'm spending more time cancelling the latest video ad and turning back on what ever steaming audio I had going. Looks like it's time to find another news app.

I understand that any newspaper organization will try to make money off of ads however they can, but when the ads as soon as you open the app are hijacking you into Safari for these things, it's out of control. I've had USA TODAY installed since about 2009, and this is the first time I've thought about deleting it. I've always enjoyed the up to the minute stories and news but the pop-ups may just drive me to a new news app. I hope they fix this.

Their devious software 'rigs' some of the videos so you can't skip the ads preceding them, even after they time out. So, I never watch the videos because forced ads are in almost every one! And, sometimes the ad time is almost as long as the video. VERY ANNOYING!!! I subscribe to the paper version and believe that there should be no ads for me here, or at least less ads.

I am deleting the app because of the repetitive ads that pop up without being clicked while trying to read the news. Used to be my #1 source for news. No more.
